Making of Adipurush

On August 18, 2020, a promotional poster was used to make the announcement about the Adipurush. Om Raut, who previously directed the historical action picture Tanhaji (2020), is in charge of directing the role of Lord Rama, which is played by Prabhas.

Om Raut was inspired to convert the Ramayana into a movie utilising modern technology after watching the 1992 Japanese film Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama. In the midst of India's COVID-19 lockdown, Raut composed the script. As soon as Prabhas saw the project, he liked it, and T-Series Films agreed to produce it.

The filmmakers announced in September 2020 that Prabhas would play Lord Rama, whose character name would later be revealed to be Raghava. The character of Ravana, also known as Lankesh, has been offered to Saif Ali Khan, who has previously appeared in Raut's Tanhaji in the role of a villain.

Following rumours that Anushka Shetty, Anushka Sharma, Kiara Advani, and Keerthy Suresh had been contacted for the character of Sita, it was announced in November 2020 that Kriti Sanon had been cast to play the role. Lakshmana, Lord Rama's younger brother, is played by Sunny Singh, who joined the cast in February 2021.

On January 19, 2021, the motion capture for Adipurush started. On February 2, 2021, Muhurtam was officially shot and launched in Mumbai, India. According to the creators of the film, principal photography for the movie had begun that day. On the same day of filming, there was a major fire accident at the location in Mumbai where the scene was being shot.

Both Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon finished filming their scenes in October 2021. On November 10, 2021, the last shot of the movie was taken.

The Adipurush teaser was launched on May 9, 2023. Adipurush’s budget is ₹500 Crore (US$63 million), making it one of the most costly Indian films ever made

Adipurush Reviews
