TV stars are the term referred to actors/singers associated with the Indian television drama (soap operas). Indian television drama (or Indian serials in Indian English) refers to television shows that are created, produced, and filmed in India with Indian actors portraying Indian characters.

Hum Log (Hindi), which was broadcast from 1984–1985 and finished with 154 episodes, was India's first television drama. The first Indian TV serial to surpass 1,000 episodes was Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (Hindi) (2000-2008), which finished with 1,833 episodes.
