Netflix has more than 100 series on the platform. Netflix has a sizable collection of original television shows and films from India. The streaming services actively compete with one another regarding local, original content. That's because India's number of people watching videos has increased dramatically.

Netflix streaming services have tonnes of great content, but if Indian original series are what you're specifically looking for, you're in luck. We've compiled a list of the top Netflix original series from India.

Top 10 Best Series on Netflix India

  1. Little Things:

Despite not being a Netflix original, the streaming giant eventually purchased the property. The story revolves around the lives of young, single Mumbai residents Kavya (Mithila Palkar) and Dhruv (Dhruv Sehgal). As its name suggests, Little Things follows the couple's daily life and charts their relationship over time. The best thing about this Indian television show is how funny and relatable it is while still being incredibly lighthearted. One eventually discovers several "small things" the pair share. It's like a relationship mirror for young couples still trying to establish themselves in society. Little Things will satisfy your need for an entertaining and quick watch.

  1. Taj Mahal 1989:

Three intertwined love stories make up this Indian Netflix original series. The first involves Sarita and Akhtar; two college teachers bound together in a loveless union because they are more preoccupied with the routine rigmarole of daily life. The second depicts Mumtaz and Sudhakar, who defy social conventions to maintain their relationship. Sudhakar is Ahtar's long-lost acquaintance. Although their relationship radiates happiness, there are challenges in it as well.

In the final one, politics, jealousy, and contrasting objectives take centre stage in the relationship between two college students named Dharam and Rashmi, despite their strong feelings for one another. This powerful series combines the themes of new love, eternal love, and lost love into one cohesive whole. Streamers in India must see this.

  1. Jamtara:

An Indian original Netflix series called Jamtara is based on actual events. It's an exciting excursion into Jamtara, a village in Jharkhand that turns out to be the centre of India's phishing industry. Sunny and Rocky, two cousins, operate a profitable phishing scam out of the village covertly with the help of their pals. A criminal mastermind who wants in on the activity soon becomes aware of their actions. Things become incredibly violent as emotions rise and lives are in danger since the police are also hot on their tail. This show has two seasons, both of which are worth watching.

  1. She:

She is the first project that filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has tried to make for a smaller screen. A lower-middle-class junior police constable pushed outside of her comfort zone to go on an intelligence operation and infiltrate a criminal organisation is the subject of the plot of this Indian original Netflix series. The series is notable for its outstanding acting, some of which will make you visibly cringe at the chauvinistic character of males in positions of authority.

  1. Ghoul:

The Ghoul, another suspenseful Indian original from Netflix, explores issues of paranormal horror, military activism, and Arabic culture. In other words, the three-part series will frighten you. One of the series' main characters is Radhika Apte. She portrays a military officer questioning a terrorist with a Ghoul, an evil spirit, in Arabic. At the military base where the terrorist is being held, chaos breaks out as the demon grows stronger. Who will escape the Ghoul's fury?

  1. Hasmukh:

You might like this Indian Netflix original series starring comedian Vir Das if you like dark comedies. The main storyline of the TV show follows an Indian comic as he progresses from small rural gatherings to a significant televised stand-up show. His only issue is that to function at his best, he must kill someone. Hasmukh is, for the most part, a watchable film with a fascinating plot. However, it needs to be improved by the inconsistent scripting, as some jokes succeed while others fall flat.

  1. A Suitable Boy:

Passionate literature student Lata rebels against convention and her interfering mother's desire to match her with a husband in a newly independent India. She sets out on a voyage of love and heartbreak as three very different men compete for her attention, torn between her family's needs and the romance's allure. This Netflix original TV series from India was created by Mira Nair and starred Ishaan Khatter, Tabu, Tanya Maniktala, Rasika Dugal, Ram Kapoor, Namit Das, and other well-known performers.

  1.  Indian Matchmaking:

You must watch Indian Matchmaking if you're looking for an original reality programme produced in India to stream on Netflix. The two-season programme centres on many millennials looking for love and have enlisted the aid of Sima Taparia, an expert marriage counsellor headquartered in Mumbai. Watch how young singles from Mumbai to Houston navigate the world of an arranged marriage with all of its drama, twists, and turns.

  1. Delhi Crime:

The show's first season is based on one of the most terrible and heartbreaking rape cases in New Delhi, the capital of India. It tells the story of the Indian rape incident known as the Nirbhaya case. Due to the gruesomeness of the crime, the tragedy attracted a lot of international attention at the time. However, the victim and the incident were the only subjects of most media reports.

Viewers are taken behind the scenes of the Delhi Police's case investigation by filmmaker Richie Mehta. The series explores the bureaucratic constraints, political influences, and resource shortages the Delhi Police encountered during the inquiry. Mehta spent six arduous years working on Delhi Crime, and he and his crew undertook extensive ground-level research for the show. Although viewers questioned the show's blatant favouritism of the Delhi Police, it is nonetheless a compelling and thought-provoking viewing. You are free to assess the overall optics of the situation on your own. The second season focuses on the Chaddi Baniyan Gang, infamous for looting and murders.

  1. Sacred Games:

The best Indian original television series to watch is likely this Netflix production starring Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, and Kalki Koechlin. It's about time you watched Sacred Games if you haven't already. The plot of the series focuses on an impending terrorist strike in Mumbai, which was planned by mobster Ganesh Gaitonde (Siddiqui). Sartaj Singh (Khan), a police officer, has 25 days to prevent the city from exploding. However, he is unsure where to begin or the extent of the plot.
