The fan favourite Debosmita said “I can’t believe I had the opportunity to perform on such a huge platform in front of all the judges and special guests. It is a great achievement for me to see the smile and the pride in my parent’s eyes. When my name was announced as one of the finalists, it felt like I had already won the trophy. I owe it all to my parents.”

Other Indian Idol Season 13 Finalists

A monetary prize of Rs 5 lakh each was given to Debosmita and Chirag. The third and fourth runners-up, Bidipta Chakraborty and Shivam Singh received a check for Rs 3 lakh each. Moreover, Rs 1 lakh each and specially crafted gifts were given to the six finalists.

Rishi Singh Talks Adoption Story

Rishi Singh spoke about his journey and adoption after winning Indian Idol 13. When the announcement came, Rishi claimed that he had lost all memory and that he had never expected to win. “The competition was really tough and I really had no idea I could win the show. I am so thankful to everyone who voted for me. It is because of them that I am standing with the trophy. Of course, this victory means a lot to me but this love is way more special for me,” he added.

In light of the fact that Rishi lacks formal training, he expressed his doubt regarding how his participation in the tournament will end. “Every other contestant has trained for years while I have no formal learning. I was unsure and scared if that would become my drawback. But I think this is why it’s called ‘god gifted’. I have been blessed by the almighty with this talent, and I knew he will take me ahead,” Rishi Singh said.

Rishi learned about his adoption during the course of the show. He said that it is a fact of his life that he cannot escape when questioned about it. He continued by saying that the affection he has had from his foster parents is far more than a child could ever hope for. Given that it's a reality show, many people did wonder if the news was made on camera to win viewers' sympathies. Rishi claimed that he ignored the criticism and kept each week's performance in mind. He continued by saying that nothing else would matter to him if he and his parents understood and accepted the truth. “Of course, it was big news for me and I was taken aback. I think what was most important was that I accepted the truth. That was the only way I could lead a harmonious life with my parents. Also, I think everyone has seen the bond that we share. They related to me and our story. And I think so many other families like us will get the courage to accept their truth through us.”

Himesh Reshammiya, Neha Kakkar, and Vishal Dadlani were the judges of the 13th season of Indian Idol. Aditya Narayan played the part of the host. The finals took place on the 2nd of March, 2023, where Rishi Singh and the other finalist made the night special with their mesmerizing voices.
