1. Ponniyin Selvan I

Ponniyin Selvan is an epic historical action-adventure film directed by Mani Ratnam. The screenplay has been written by Elango Kumaravel, B. Jeyamohan and Mani Ratnam. It is the first of two film adaptations of Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel Ponniyin Selvan, and it was produced by Ratnam and Subaskaran Allirajah under the banners of Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Rahman, R. Parthiban, and Lal are among the ensemble cast members of the movie. A. R. Rahman wrote the soundtrack, while Ravi Varman shot the movie, A. Sreekar Prasad edited it, and Thota Tharani did the production design. Ponniyin Selvan: I dramatise the early years of the legendary emperor Rajaraja I, a Chola prince named Arulmozhi Varman.

2. Vikram

The action thriller movie Vikram is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. It has been written and co-written by Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rathna Kumar. Kamal Haasan, Fahadh Faasil, and Vijay Sethupathi also appear in it as well as Narain, Kalidas Jayaram, and Chemban Vinod Jose in supporting parts. Amala Paul plays the lead in the movie; supporting cast members include Riythvika, Munishkanth, Thrigun, Harish Uthaman, and Athulya Ravi. H. Vinoth wrote the script and directed the action/thriller movie Valimai, which was produced by Boney Kapoor under Bayview Projects LLP with Zee Studios serving as co-producer and distributor. 6. Gatta Kusthi

Chella Ayyavu is the writer and director of the sports comedy-drama film Gatta Kusthi. Through the businesses RT Team Works and VV Studioz, Ravi Teja, Vishnu Vishal, Shubhra, and Aryan Ramesh collaborated on its production. A 2022 Tamil neo-noir gangster movie titled Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu Part I: The Kindling is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, written by B. Jeyamohan, and produced by Ishari K. Ganesh. Raadhika Sarathkumar, Neeraj Madhav, and Siddique play supporting roles alongside Silambarasan and Siddhi Idnani in the movie. A. R. Rahman wrote the soundtrack and the film's score. August 2021 marked the start of principal photography, which lasted until April 2022. On September 15, 2022, the movie was released in theatres to generally positive reviews from critics and viewers. 8. D Block

D Block is a coming-of-age psychological thriller movie from 2022 that was written and produced by cinematographer Aravinnd Singh under the name MNM Films and released by Sakthi Film Factory. It was directed by rookie Vijay Kumar Rajendran (of Eruma Saani fame). Arulnithi and Avantika Mishra play the lead roles in the movie, and Karu Palaniappan, Charandeep, Thalaivasal Vijay, Ramesh Khanna, and Uma Riyaz Khan play supporting roles. Ron Ethan Yohann and Kaushik Krish respectively composed the music and background score for the movie, which was shot by Aravinnd Singh and edited by Ganesh Siva. The movie debuted in theatres on July 1, 2022. Critics and viewers gave the movie mixed to positive reviews, praising Arulnithi's performance, cinematography, background music, and plot while criticizing the screenplay and pacing.
