Sargam Koushal is the Mrs World 2022 winner, brings title back home after 21 years!

Sargam Koushal, who represented India at the Mrs World 2022 event hosted in Las Vegas on Sunday, won the title of Mrs World 2022 and brought the title back to India after 21 years. Sargam competed against contestants from 63 countries and won the competition to bring back the prestigious title. She was crowned by the Mrs World 2021 winner Shaylyn Ford who is from the US.

Originally from Jammu and Kashmir, Sargam Koushal moved to Mumbai a few years ago and reportedly got married in the year 2018. Sargam Koushal's husband works for the Indian Navy. She used to work as a teacher and also has a postgraduate degree in English Literature. Sargam Koushal won the title of Mrs India 2022 in June this year. 

The whole media went into a frenzy when Sargam Koushal was crowned the Mrs World 2022. Mrs India pageant's official Instagram account could not hold back the excitement and put up a post saying, "The long wait is over, it's after 21 years we have the CROWN back!". Sargam's achievement was also celebrated by former Mrs World winner, Aditi Govitrikar, who said, "Heartiest congratulations Sargam, so happy to have been part of the journey.. it was time the crown came back after 21 years." Aditi Govitrikar was the only Mrs World winner from India before Sargam. Aditi won the title in 2001 and went on to have a successful acting career. 

Sargam Koushal wore a gown designed by Bhawna Rao for the final round. It was a pink glittery gown with a slit in the middle. Sargam was mentored by a model and pageant expert Alesia Raut for the runway. She beat Mrs Polynesia and Mrs Canada who came first and second runner-ups respectively. 

Sargam Koushal was jubilant when she was crowned as Mrs World 2022 and could not contain her happiness. After winning the competition, she said, "We've got the crown back after 21-22 years. I'm so excited. Love you India, love you world". This is a very proud moment for India which will be cherished for years to come!
