SAB TV Channel Details

Sony SAB is owned by Culver Max Entertainment. It was first launched on April 23, 1999, by Gautam and Markand Adhikari under their company Sri Adhikari Brothers. Back then, it was called SAB TV and mainly focused on Hindi comedy shows. In March 2005, Sony Pictures Networks bought the channel and renamed it Sony SAB. Over the years, it moved away from only comedy and became a general entertainment channel in Hindi. By 2008, it was positioned as a family channel with a wide variety of shows.

The high-definition version of Sony SAB started on September 5, 2016. It gave viewers a better experience with clearer sound and sharper visuals. Since then, more and more people have chosen to watch the HD feed for a better viewing experience.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah continues to be the longest-running show on the channel. It started in July 2008 and has crossed 4,400 episodes, making it one of the most popular and loved TV shows in India. Families still enjoy watching it together every evening.
