A division of The Walt Disney Company India, Disney Star (formerly Star India) owns Star Pravah, a general entertainment pay television channel in the Marathi language. It started on November 24, 2008, and broadcasts Marathi television series, dramas, reality shows, and family programmes.

Star Pravah was launched shortly after Star Jalsha, which started on September 8, 2008. Its first logo was similar to Star Jalsha’s but in blue. On February 3, 2014, the channel updated its name and logo with the motto Swapnanna Pankh Nave, which means “dreams have new wings”.

On October 10, 2016, Star Pravah got a fresh look with new graphics and the motto Aata Thambaych Naay, meaning “don’t stop now.” Later, on December 2, 2019, the channel rebranded again with a new logo and the motto Marathi Parampara Marathi Pravah, highlighting Marathi tradition and culture.

The high-definition feed, Star Pravah HD, launched on May 1, 2016, giving viewers a clearer and better viewing experience. By 2025, Star Pravah continues to be one of the most popular Marathi channels, offering a mix of family dramas, reality shows, and entertainment that connects with Marathi audiences across India.
