Veteran South Indian Producer K Muralidharan Passes Away

Veteran South Indian producer K Muralidharan, who is the former President of the Tamil Nadu Producers Council, passed away in his hometown Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu. He suffered a heart attack and passed away on 1 December 2022.
K Muralidharan started his film career as a producer in the year 1994 with the film Aranmani Kavalan, starring Sarathkumar. He then started his production house with his partners V Swaminathan and G Venuopal named Lakshmi Movie Makers. Their production house produced a number of hit Tamil fims like Anbe Sivam and Bagavathi. K Muralidharan has also worked with several prominent South Industry celebrities like Kamal Haasan, Karthik, Vijay and Dhanush, to name a few. The 2015 hit Tamil film Sakalakala Vallavan was the last Lakshmi Movie Makers produced. The movie starred Jayam Ravi, Trisha and Anjali.
Number of notable personalities paid their tributes to one of the most influential producers of his time, including actor Kamal Haasan and director Manobala. They paid their tribute on social media via Twitter. Kamal Haasan posted a tweet in Tamil which said that he remembers the days he worked with K Muralidharan who has produced so many hit films. Manobala, in his tweet, said, "Shocking shocking news LMM Murali no more…RIP"
The film fraternity has lost a gem of a producer who will forever remain in the hearts of the people from the south. May his soul rest in peace!
