Anil Kapoor is an Indian actor and producer. Anil Kapoor's height is 5.10 feet. He specializes in Hindi films but has appeared in other national and international productions as well. Kapoor has acted in more than 100 films throughout the course of a career spanning more than 40 years. Since 2005 he has also worked as a producer. He has won countless honours including two National Film Awards and six Filmfare Awards for his leading parts in numerous classic and cult movies.


Anil Kapoor made his Bollywood debut with a modest role in the love story Hamare Tumhare (1979). He then played the lead in the Telugu movie Vamsa Vruksham (1980) which was followed by the Kannada movie Pallavi Anupallavi. He was born in Bombay to film producer Surinder Kapoor (1983). 

Kapoor's breakthrough performance in the action drama Mashaal marked a turning point in his career (1984). Sandeep Marwah the creator of the Noida Film City and proprietor of Marwah Studios is his brother-in-law. Anil Kapoor attended St. Xavier's College in Fort South Mumbai and Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School in Chembur East Mumbai for his education. Anil Kapoor did not study at NSD. He was not accepted into the Film Institute since he failed the written test. He received education from Roshan Taneja's acting studio.

Career

In the 1970 movie Tu Payal Mein Geet Anil Kapoor played a young Shashi Kapoor. The movie however did not have a theatrical debut. In a supporting part Anil Kapoor made his Hindi film debut in Umesh Mehra's 1979 film Hamare Tumhare. 

After that he played the lead role in the 1980 Telugu film Vamsa Vruksham. In Woh Saat Din (1983) he had his first debut role in a Hindi movie. As a Tapori in Yash Chopra's drama Mashaal (1984) he rose to prominence in Bollywood and received his first Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Rarely Anil Kapoor has added music as a singer to the soundtracks of his films. The title track of the 1986 Bollywood comedy Chameli Ki Shaadi was one of his debut playback songs. He received credit for the song Tere Bina Main Nahin Mere Bina Tu Nahin for the movie Woh Saat Din during the same decade. In 1986 he collaborated on one entire album with Salma Agha Welcome. Bappi Lahiri composed the album's music.

First Movie: Woh Saat Din (1983)

A poor woman  (Padmini Kolhapure) marries a doctor(Naseeruddin Shah) but she was really in love with another man (Anil Kapoor) who wanted to be a music director. He was also in love with her but he didn't think his wife would be content with her. Instead the doctor offers to bring them together. Dr. Anand a widower remarries Maya a considerably younger woman He quickly learns that she was not consulted before the marriage was done. Prem Pratap Patialawala a street singer and self-described musician is the person she confesses to loving when he wins her trust.

In an effort to reunite the lovers Dr. Anand then makes an effort to find Prem Pratap. Since Dr. Anand's mother is very ill he asks Maya to continue being his wife for around seven days because he doesn't think she will live much longer. Maya accepts. Prem Pratap is hired by Dr. Anand posing as a movie producer to be his music director. Later Prem Pratap is invited to Dr. Anand's home so that the lovers can reunite.

Mr. India (1987)

A science fiction superhero movie is called Mr. India. Arun Verma (Anil Kapoor) who was orphaned as a youngster has devoted his adult life to caring for orphaned children in a home where he is unable to pay the rent or even basic living expenses.

The newspaper reporter Seema Sohni (Sridevi) who happens to not like children is the renter of the room he wishes to rent. International crime boss and terrorist Mogambo (Amrish Puri) takes an interest in Arun's home and sends his men to evict him so he can store his guns and other weapons there. When Arun and some of the kids refuse to leave the house they are physically assaulted and threatened with terrible repercussions.

Arun is shown a technology that will turn him invisible by Professor Sinha (Ashok Kumar) a friend of Arun's father so that he can fight to maintain the house. When Arun uses the gadget he turns invisible. He names himself Mr. India and uses this to turn the tables on Mogambo's troops. Mr. India gains widespread acceptance and people all around the world rejoice and hail him as their new savior. Only Jugal ( an orphan child in his home ) is aware that Mr. India is Arun.

Mogambo takes exception to this and unleashes horror killing hundreds of innocent people among them a child in Arun's care. To catch Mr. India when he tries to save the kids Mogambo intends to abduct himself Seema and Arun. After the kidnapping Arun Seema and the kids are imprisoned in a cell. While Seema and the kids wait for Mr. India to arrive to save them in this conflict Arun loses the device. They are unaware that time is running out and that Mogambo has already prepared for them to die in an acid pit.

But they manage to get away by robbing a guard of his keys. Mogambo in the meantime launches four intercontinental ballistic missiles that are prepared to destroy all of India. Arun challenges him the two engage in combat and Arun prevails. However Mogambo cautions that if Arun is successful everyone present would perish as he prepares to halt the missiles. The rockets explode on the launch pad despite Arun deactivating the launch. When Mogambo's citadel is demolished Arun Seema Calendar and the kids are able to flee and Mogambo is killed.

The Character of Mogambo is one of the most popular characters in Bollywood. His dialogue Mogambo Khus Hua is still used every now and then.

Kate Nahi Kat Te song of the movie became most favorite song all over the country. Sensuous Sridevi dancing in saari in the pouring rain is a delight to watch.

The Hindi film Mr. India become a cult classic.

At the first Star & Style-Lux Awards presented by the magazine Star & Style Mr. India took home the Best Film (Boney Kapoor) Best Director Best Actor (Anil Kapoor) and Best Actress (Sridevi) awards.

Sridevi received a Special Award from the Filmfare Awards in 2013 for her work in both the movie Mr. India and Nagina.

Beta (1992)

Raju is the sole kid of a multi-millionaire father. Although Raju's father can give him anything he wants all he really wants is his mother's love. In an effort to appease Raju his father marries Nagmani believing that she will look after him more than his true mother would. Raju wholeheartedly devotes himself to his stepmother and follows her instructions. As the years go by Raju matures and marries Saraswati. Saraswati learns that Nagmani is only interested in obtaining Raju's fortune and that her motherly love for Raju is a façade.

The second-best-selling Beast album of the year was the soundtrack of Beta. For the song Dhak Dhak Karne Laga Anuradha Paudwal earned her third consecutive Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer.

Beta topped the list of Bollywood movies released in 1992 in terms of box office take. At the 38th Filmfare Awards it garnered a record-breaking nine nominations including those for Best Film Best Director and Best Music Director. It also took home five prizes including Best Actor (Anil Kapoor) Best Actress (Madhuri Dixit) and Best Supporting Actress (Aruna Irani).

Nayak (2001)

Shivaji Rao Gaekwad (Anil Kapoor)  started out as a cameraman at well-known television station QTV worked his way up and was eventually promoted to reporter. Interviewing the Chief Minister Balraj Chauhan was one of his duties. He reveals to the world the real details of Chauhan's case during the conversation. 

Angered by this Chauhan makes the decision to issue a challenge which he accepts to take over as chief minister for the day. During his reign Shivaji makes an effort to remedy the error by punishing dishonest individuals while also making sure that the general populace gets what they desire.

When his life eventually returns to normal however he will discover that nothing is the same as before because Chauhan's goons have made him and his loved ones targets. This forces Shivaji to enter politics and ultimately be elected as the Chief Minister—a Chief Minister who wants to carry on with the rest of his day's work.

Nayak got Cult film status after it was premiered on Television. The nation loved the film and rewatched it many times.

Welcome (2007 )

Three Hong Kong-based seriocomic mobsters named Uday Shetty (Nana Patekar) Majnu (Anil Kapoor) and their leader Sikander (Feroz Khan) are eager to marry off their sister Sanjana (Katrina Kaif) into a respectable family. After randomly running across Rajiv (Akshay Kumar) a gorgeous bachelor Uday is certain that Rajiv would make a good marriage for Sanjana. Rajiv's uncle Dr. Ghunghroo (Paresh Rawal) on the other hand disapproves of his nephew's involvement with an underworld family. Meanwhile Sanjana meets Rajiv on a trip and falls in love with him despite being unaware of her brothers' schemes. Dr. Ghunghroo who is unaware that she is the Mafia's sister has accepted her.

Dr. Ghunghroo seeks to flee the brothers' wrath as he discovers his error. There is much laughter as each of the radically different brothers starts pulling off clever and funny antics to persuade the uncle to accept the alliance. When a stunning bomb (Mallika Sherawat) posing as Rajiv's fiancée arrives on the scene and adds to the excitement and mayhem this fall-down comic comedy takes another turn.

The duo of Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar was loved by audiences. Majnu Bhai and Uday Shetty the names of the character also became famous. 

Slumdog Millionaire (2008)

Jamal Malik (Dev Patel) an 18-year-old orphan from the Mumbai slums is about to have the biggest day of his life in the film Slumdog Millionaire. He needs to correctly answer just one question on India's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire to earn a whopping 20 million rupees in front of the entire country. The character of the host of the show is played by Anil Kapoor.

Police however detain him on suspicion of cheating when the show ends for the evening; how could a street boy know so much? Jamal recounts his upbringing in the slum where he and his brother were raised their travels together their violent run-ins with neighborhood gangs and Latika (Frieda Pinto) the girl he loved and lost in an effort to establish his innocence.

The locations of Jamal's sources for the answers to the show's seemingly insurmountable tests are revealed in each chapter of his complex narrative. But one thing is still a mystery: what is this young man who doesn't seem to want money actually doing on the game show?

The Inspector and the 60 million viewers will find out when the new day arrives and Jamal comes back to respond to the last query.

24 (Tv Show)

The main character of the season is ATU Chief Jai Singh Rathore (Anil Kapoor) who must decide whether to protect his family or the entire country from a serious terrorist strike. Jai is tasked with rescuing Aditya Singhania the nation's nominee for prime minister who is being pursued by assassins and attackers.

Based on the American series of the same name 24 is an action-thriller TV show that aired in India on Colors TV in the Hindi language. From October 4 through December 21 2013 it was shown. The film was produced by Ramesh Deo Productions directed by Abhinay Deo and written by Rensil D'Silva and Bhavani Iyer.

The first adaptation of 24 is in Hindi and Anil Kapoor's production business who also stars as the show's main character bought the India rights from Fox and 24 producers Howard Gordon. In November 2011 Kapoor's production company agreed to adapt the series for 100 crores ($20 million at the time).  The Anti-Terrorist Unit (ATU) main set is a duplicate of the one from the first series and the program is set in Mumbai.
