Jay Shetty was born and raised in London by Indian parents. He was a shy and quiet child who always wanted to make the world a better place. After getting a last-minute request to hear a monk talk, his life changed in a big way. Around that time, Jay Shetty started to think about what success really meant and how to get there. He wanted to live a life of service, influence, fulfilment, and joy. However, he had a hard time balancing these goals with his college plans. During his school years, Jay Shetty lived with monks in India during his breaks and learned a lot from them.
Jay Shetty was driven by a strong desire to make a big difference in the lives of those around him even after finishing Cass Business School in 2010 with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Management Science. It wasn't clear to him how his degree fit with his goals. That's when Jay Shetty decided to become a Hindu monk and travel for three years in India and the UK. He gave up clothes for robes, shaved his head, and started living a simple life. It became normal for him to get up at 4 a.m., take cold showers, and eat less. Through hard work and up to eight hours of meditation every day, Jay Shetty learned about the ancient practices of awareness and breath, becoming deeply immersed in the Eastern sciences and beliefs that have stood the test of time. Jay Shetty realised that his life's calling went far beyond himself during this time of self-discovery. He was determined to help others find their meaning.
Jay Shetty is going to be 37 years old this year on 6th September.
Jay Shetty was born in London in a Hindu family. His mother is a Gujarati who was raised in Yemen. His father’s Tulu Bunt from Mangalore. However, his parent's name is not known to the public yet.
Jay Shetty is married to Roshni Devlukia Shetty who is a dietitian at Watford General Hospital. They don’t have any children yet.
Jay Shetty met Gauranga Das in business school. Das is a monk who was asked to talk about living a simple life and not caring about yourself. After Gauranga's talk, Jay Shetty talked to him and then followed him for the rest of Gauranga's speaking tour in the UK. Jay Shetty says he spent four summers in India working as a worker for companies and training with the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), also known as the Hare Krishna movement or Hare Krishnas. He also says he lived the ISKCON way of life for three years at an ashram in Mumbai, India. Jay Shetty's first job was at Accenture, where he worked on digital strategy and coached leaders on how to use social media. Arianna Huffington liked his work so much that she asked him to make movies for Huffington Post about things like relationships. A lot of famous people have been interviewed by Shetty.

Jay Shetty faces scrutiny for purportedly fabricating aspects of his life story and plagiarizing social media content. Reports challenge his claims of spending three years in an Indian temple, suggesting a less dramatic spiritual journey centred in Watford, UK, rather than India. This controversy raises questions about the authenticity of his monkhood narrative and discrepancies in his academic background, casting a shadow over his motivational empire.

He talks about how to win or lose together, what love is, and why you shouldn't break up after a breakup. He talks about all stages of a relationship, from the first date to moving in together to breaking up and starting over. His ideas come from both ancient Vedic wisdom and modern science.
