Marriage

During the Naanum Rowdy Dhan narrative Nayanthara first encountered Vignesh Shivan. The couple fell in love while filming took place in 2015. They soon became the subject of mushy photos that circulated on social media. Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan did not make their romance official at the time.

They made their first public appearance as a couple at an award presentation in Singapore two years later in 2017. Career

Manassinakkare (2003)

The 2003 Indian Malayalam family drama film Manassinakkare was written and directed by Sathyan Anthikkad. In addition to Innocent Oduvil Unnikrishnan K. P. A. C. Lalitha Siddique Sukumari Nedumudi Venu and Mammukoya playing important roles it has Jayaram Sheela and Nayanthara in key roles. Ilayaraja wrote the soundtrack and the film's score. Sheela made her acting comeback in the movie and Nayanthara made her screen debut. Four South Filmfare Awards went to the movie. 

Nayanthara made her cinematic debut with Manassinakkare. Every major character was cast during pre-production except for Gauri for whom Sathyan looked for a rookie to maintain Sheela as the main draw. Filming took place in Pattambi Palakkad with Kochu Thresia's home serving as a key site. 

Gauri's sequences did not involve the house so Sathyan began filming to find a cast before the shoot was over. He happened to be reading Vanitha magazine on one of the filming days when he noticed Nayanthara's image in a jewelry commercial. When Gauri was needed she was contacted.

E (2006)

Play

S. P. Jananathan is the director of the 2006 Indian Tamil-language medical thriller movie E. Jiiva and Nayanthara are the movie's main actors whereas Ashish Vidyarthi Pasupathy and Karunas performed supporting roles. Srikanth Deva the movie's director wrote the music. The movie received praise for its original plot which was based on actual medical misdeeds. The film received unfavorable reviews and was a monetary failure.

The focus of the film is Easwaran alias E an orphan raised by an elderly woman in the crowded musty slums of Chennai. Money is god in his eyes. He meets Jothy a bar dancer who lives in the same neighborhood. They get to know one another after a few interactions. Jothy is drawn to E's easygoing manner. 

After learning about E's past Jothy makes a valiant effort to teach him a lesson and put him on the right path. In the meantime Dr. Ramakrishnan begins testing a drug created by a foreign business that could be used to murder thousands of people particularly during wartime. Jothy's sister and E's grandma are the test subjects that Ramakrishnan chooses.

Billa (2007)

The action-thriller movie Billa which was released in 2007 was directed by Vishnuvardhan. It is a remake of the Tamil film Billa from 1980 which was in turn a remake of Don from 1978 in Hindi. Along with Nayanthara and Namitha Ajith Kumar who plays a dual role as a mob dons and his amiable lookalike also acts in the movie. 

Prabhu Rahman Adithya Menon and Santhanam also have supporting roles. Produced by L. Suresh and Abdurrahman M it has Yuvan Shankar Raja's score and soundtrack Nirav Shah's cinematography and A. Sreekar Prasad's editing. 

The project started in April 2007 and on December 14 of the same year Ayngaran International released and disseminated it globally. After its first success the movie was chosen to screen at the 61st Cannes Film Festival.

Yaaradi Nee Mohini (2008)

In 2008 Mithran Jawahar released the romantic comedy Yaaradi Nee Mohini in Tamil. It is a remake of Selvaraghavan's 2007 Telugu hit Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule and stars Dhanush Selvaraghavan's brother and Nayanthara in the lead roles. 

Karthik Kumar Raghuvaran Telugu film director K. Vishwanath Karunas and Saranya Mohan appear in supporting roles and the film's climax is slightly altered. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the music for the film. The title is taken from a song in the 1958 film Uthama Puthiran starring Sivaji Ganesan and Padmini.

On April 4 2008 Yaaradi Nee Mohini was released and it quickly rose to become one of the highest-grossing Tamil movies of the year. Yuvan Shankar Raja who also composed the music for the original film scored the music for Yaaradi Nee Mohini. Five tracks were included in the initial release of the soundtrack which was made available on February 9th 2008; the song Manasa Manninchamma was initially absent.

Villu (2009)

In 2009 Prabhu Deva and AC Mugil released the action comedy movie Villu in the Tamil language. In addition to Nayanthara Ranjitha Prakash Raj and Vadivelu Vijay plays a dual role in the movie. While Prabhu Deva Mumaith Khan Zabyn Khan and Khushbu feature in item numbers Manoj K. Jayan Devaraj Adithya Anandaraj and Geetha play supporting roles. 

Devi Sri Prasad created the music for the movie which Ayngaran International produced and released. Kola Bhaskar handled the editing while Ravi Varman handled the cinematography. Critics gave the movie unfavorable reviews and its box office performance was only mediocre.

The movie premiered on January 12 2009. 2009 saw the movie debut at #221 at the United Kingdom box office. Villu reached a 50 lakh rupee domestic profit settlement. To avenge his father's killing the novel's assassin infiltrates and overthrows a criminal organization. 

The title of the movie Villu (bow) refers to a man named Pugazh who exacts revenge for his father's (arrow) attack on his enemies to kill them. Kalaignar TV was the owner of the film's satellite rights. Rediff noted that Vadivelu and Vijay's use of slapstick humor in the movie received praise.

Bodyguard (2010)

A romantic comedy action movie in the Malayalam language written and directed by Siddique. Mithra Kurian and Thiagarajan play supporting roles with Dileep and Nayanthara starring in the lead roles. After an absence of four years Nayanthara returned to Malayalam cinema with this movie and Dileep collaborated for the first time with Siddique. 

Prabhu Deva a well-known choreographer and filmmaker choreographed the song sequences while Ouseppachan created the soundtrack. On January 22 2010 the movie was released. 

The cast's performances—particularly those of Dileep and Nayanthara—as well as Siddique's writing climax and emotional impact—were praised by reviewers and viewers alike. The movie was in production for more than 150 days and was a financial success.

Raja Rani (2013)

It is a 2013 Indian love drama film in the Tamil language that Atlee directed. Arya Jai Nayanthara and Nazriya Nazim star in the AR Murugadoss-produced movie which also has Sathyaraj Santhanam and Sathyan in supporting roles. The 1986 Tamil film Mouna Ragam and the 2007 Kannada film Milana served as major inspirations for the film's central plot. According to reviewers the movie opened to favorable reviews on September 27 2013.

In Tamil Nadu 350 screens showed the movie. It was reported to have had Arya's best-ever opening day gross of almost 32 million dollars and an opening weekend haul of 122 million dollars across Tamil Nadu Kerala and Karnataka. After the first weekend it was predicted that the overseas market would generate 50 million in total sales. After making more than 500 million rupees (US$6.3 million) at the South Indian box office in just four weeks Raja Rani eventually became a tremendous success.

Maya (2015)

Play

Ashwin Saravanan wrote and directed. It was created by Potential Studios and Nayanthara and Aari Arujunan play the main characters. Amzath Khan and Lakshmi Priya played supporting roles. This movie which was Nayanthara's 50th is recognized as one of Tamil cinema's best horror productions. 

One of the highest-grossing Tamil movies of 2015 was this one. Mayuri a dubbed Telugu version was also made available. Chiranjeevi Sarja played the lead role in K. M. Chaitanya's remake of the movie titled Aake in Kannada.

The reviews for Maya were favorable. The Times of India rated the movie 3.5 out of 5 stars and stated: Maya is completely original and intellectual. Even after the movie has ended we continue to replay the events in our minds and reflect on how creatively the many plot threads were combined. That's where it succeeds.

Naanum rowdy thaan (2015)

Action comedy movie in the Tamil language that was produced by actor Dhanush's Wunderbar Films and released by Lyca Productions. It was written and directed by Vignesh Shivan. In addition to Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara the movie also stars Parthiepan Raadhika Sarathkumar RJ Balaji and Anandaraj. Anirudh Ravichander wrote the background music and soundtrack CD.

George C. Williams was in charge of the cinematography and A. Sreekar Prasad was in charge of the editing. The movie follows the involvement of Pondy Paandi (Vijay Sethupathi) the son of a police inspector in illicit activities. He develops feelings for Kadhambari (Nayanthara) a deaf woman seeking retribution from deadly thug Killivalavan (Parthiban).

Kaashmora (2016)

Gokul is the writer and director of the 2016 Tamil-language horror masala movie Kaashmora. For the second time after Siruthai it has Karthi plays both the protagonist and antagonist alongside Nayanthara and Sri Divya. 

Santhosh Narayanan composed the soundtrack for the movie. Om Prakash was in charge of the cinematography and V. J. Sabu Joseph was in charge of the editing. On October 28 2016 the day before the Diwali celebration Kaashmora was made available worldwide.

Kolaiyuthir Kaalam (2019)

Play

It is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language thriller slasher film that was made by V. Mathiyalagan and directed by Chakri Toleti. A deaf and dumb child must battle for her life in this remake of the English-language film Hush. A murderer shows up at her house.

It began filming in November 2016 and features Nayanthara Bhumika Chawla Pratap K. Pothen and Rohini Hattangadi. The movie premiered on August 9 2019. At the box office the movie was viewed as a failure. After being delayed Toleti remade the movie in Hindi as Khamoshi (2019) which came out before this one.

A deaf and mute child named Shruthi (Nayanthara) was raised in an orphanage in Chennai. A millionaire from the UK adopts Shruthi and names her as his legal successor after being moved by her character and natural skill. 

After the passing of her adopted mother tragedy finds Shruthi in the form of a house invasion when she arrives in London. After killing Mr. Anand and all the employees a strange figure follows Shruthi inside the house and also sets the will on fire. After much chasing Shruthi makes an effort to shoot the man but Mrs. Anand intervenes and kills him first.

Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal (2022)

Vignesh Shivan will write and direct a romantic black comedy movie in the Tamil language for India in 2022. Samantha Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi appear in it. Anirudh wrote the movie's score and the soundtrack album. An unlucky man's life changes in the movie Rambo when he falls in love. The only issue is that he falls in love with two women instead of just one.

On April 28 2022 Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal received a theatrical release. It garnered mixed to unfavorable reviews from critics and viewers who complimented the main cast's acting (especially that of Vijay Sethupathi Samantha and Nayanthara) the background music and the soundtrack but faulted the plot climax and running time. Despite the unfavorable reviews the movie made over US$8.8 million ($70 crore) at the box office and was a success.

Godfather (2022)

In 2022 Mohan Raja will helm the political action thriller Godfather in the Indian Telugu language. Salman Khan Nayanthara Satya Dev Chiranjeevi and others star in the movie. R. B. Choudary and N. V. Prasad are in charge of producing it under the Konidela Production Company and Super Good Films labels. It is an authorized remake of the 2019 Malayalam film Lucifer. In the movie the party's supreme leader passes away creating a large power vacuum that affects both the state's and the party's electoral and leadership systems.

The tiny line separating right and wrong becomes irreparably muddled in the inevitable succession dispute. Beginning in August 2021 principal photography began in Mumbai Ooty and Hyderabad. Nirav Shah handled the cinematography and Thaman S wrote the soundtrack. The Godfather opened in theaters on October 5 2022 to enthusiastic reviews from both critics and viewers.

Upcoming Movies

Jawan

The audience is eager for Nayanthara's debut in the Bollywood film industry Jawan for all the right reasons. The film is directed by the acclaimed director Atlee Kumar who has worked on several superhit commercial films including Theri Mersal and Raja Rani and is considered to be Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's best shot at reclaiming his title of Box office king.

Atlee is the writer and director of the upcoming Indian Hindi action thriller movie Jawan. Along with Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara Shah Rukh Khan appears in it. Anirudh Ravichander wrote the soundtrack for the movie.

Beginning in September 2021 principal photography began in Pune Mumbai Hyderabad and Chennai. The movie will debut in theaters on June 2 2023.

Iraivan

In Ahmed's film Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara who had previously collaborated on Mohan Raja's Thani Oruvan (2015) will once again be seen together. Recently the movie Iraivan was finished and now we know when it will be released.

The movie is slated for release on March 17 2023. Due to unforeseen events Arakeshwara enters the underworld during the British occupation of India. He later ascends to the position of king of the underworld. Arakeshwara however runs into difficulties when he has to deal with Bhargav Bhakshi a cop who is determined to eradicate the underworld.

Through surrogacy Tamil actress Nayanthara and actor Vignesh Shivan recently became parents to twins. The Tamil government has been keeping an eye on the couple ever since they announced they were expecting a child since there have been rumors that they may have broken the law about surrogacy.

Returning to the surrogacy debate a four-person commission was appointed to look into the couple's surrogacy as soon as they declared themselves parents. And now there are numerous reports that the hospital broke the law. According to sources quoted in a News18 story the tribunal found the hospital administration guilty of breaking surrogacy laws. The formal report however will be made public today October 26 according to MA Subramanian the Tamil Nadu health minister.

According to MA Subramanian who spoke with the media the formal report will soon be made public and the hospital management may potentially be sued because their arguments were deemed inadequate. The authorities previously looked into Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan to see if they adhered to the right processes and laws.
