Most of the movie was filmed in Muvattupuzha and Thodupuzha at several locales. It went on sale on December 22, 2006. Mammootty was nominated for a national award and won the Best Actor prize at the Kerala Film Critics Awards. In the 2006 Malayalam film Palunku (2006), where she played the character's daughter, Nazriya Nazim made her acting debut as a young girl.

Oru Naal Varum (2010)

A satirical movie in the Malayalam language was made in 2010 by T. Sreenivasan, who wrote the script while Maniyanpilla Raju produced it. K. Rajeev Kumar. Maniyanpilla Raju produced the movie through his production business, Maniyanpilla Raju Productions. The movie's total production cost, including print and advertising, was about 4.35 crore. Sameera Reddy's first movie in Malayalam cinema was titled Oru Naal Varum. The Central Board of Film Certification censored the movie on April 7, 2010, one day before its scheduled release date of May 7. But a Malayalam film industry strike caused a two-month delay. The movie debuted on July 9, 2010.

Neram (2013)

Alphonse Puthren making his directorial debut wrote starred in and edited this Indian black comedic thriller movie. The movie which was simultaneously produced in Malayalam and Tamil is an expanded version of the 2009 short film of the same name that he also directed. In both of its forms Nivin Pauly Nazriya Nazim and Bobby Simha star. Manoj K. Jayan Shammi Thilakan Lalu Alex and Willson Joseph performed the characters in Malayalam while Nassar Thambi Ramiah John Vijay and Shabareesh Varma did so in Tamil.

The entire movie takes place in Chennai on a single day. Beginning in mid-2012 filming for the project was finished in March 2013. Anand C. Chandran handled the cinematography and Rajesh Murugesan a rookie composed the soundtrack. Nazriya made her Kollywood debut in the simultaneously shot Tamil version.

The Tamil version was released on May 10 2013 a week after the Malayalam release date of May 10. Both of the movie's versions were well-received upon release and were financially successful. In Kerala the movie made 81 lakh rupees ($100 000) from 73 screens on its debut weekend (10–12 May).

Raja Rani (2013)

Raja Rani, also known as The King and Queen, is a 2013 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama movie that was helmed by Atlee. Arya Jai Nayanthara and Nazriya Nazim star in the AR Murugadoss-produced movie, which also has Sathyaraj Santhanam and Sathyan in supporting roles. The 1986 Tamil film Mouna Ragam and the 2007 Kannada film Milana served as major inspirations for the film's central plot.

The movie was released on September 27, 2013 and it was well received. It was recreated as Shudhu Tomari Jonyo in Bengali in 2015 and as Tu Je Sei in Odia in 2016. In Tamil Nadu 350 screens showed the movie. It was reported to have had Arya's best-ever opening day gross of almost 32 million dollars and an opening weekend haul of 122 million dollars across Tamil Nadu Kerala and Karnataka. After the first weekend, it was predicted that the overseas market would generate 50 million in total sales.

After making more than 500 million rupees (US$6.3 million) at the South Indian box office in just four weeks Raja Rani eventually became a tremendous success. As a result the movie became Arya's third career blockbuster, following Arinthum Ariyamalum and Boss Engira Bhaskaran and the sixth most profitable movie of the year.

Ohm Shanthi Oshaana (2014)

Jude Anthany Joseph co-wrote and directed Ohm Shanthi Oshaana an Indian romantic comedy about coming-of-age. Midhun Manuel Thomas who also created the screenplay alongside the director was the one who came up with the idea for the plot. The film also features Renji Panicker Aju Varghese Nivin Pauly Nazriya Nazim and Vineeth Sreenivasan. Ananya Films produced Ohm Shanthi Oshaana and Shaan Rahman composed the soundtrack.

Critics praised Nivin and Nazriya for their acting in Ohm Shanthi Oshaana which was released on February 7 and went on to win three Kerala State Film Awards for Best Popular Film Best Actress for Nazriya Nazim and Best Editor for Lijo Paul. The film received positive reviews from critics and went on to become one of the biggest hits of 2014.

The movie played on 12 screens for 100 days. At the Indian box office it made over 2.7 crore rupees ($340 000) in just four days. In Kerala the movie made 6.1 crores over its three weeks in theaters. The movie played in 25 theaters for 50 days. The movie made a total of 10.3 crore rupees ($1.3 million) worldwide. In Malayalam it was one of the year's biggest commercial successes.

Bangalore Days (2014)

Anjali Menon wrote and directed Bangalore Days a coming-of-age romantic comedy-drama movie in the Malayalam language from 2014 which was co-produced by Sophia Paul and Anwar Rasheed under the banners of Anwar Rasheed Entertainments and Weekend Blockbusters. Dulquer Salmaan Nivin Pauly Fahadh Faasil Nazriya Nazim Parvathy Thiruvothu Isha Talwar and Paris Laxmi are among the ensemble cast members in the movie.

Nithya Menen makes a brief appearance. Three cousins from Kerala who relocate to Bangalore are central to the story continuing Menon's recent trend of family-centered movies. On May 30 2014 the movie opened simultaneously across 205 theaters in India making it one of the biggest Malayalam cinema releases ever. It was well-received.

Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim won the Best Actor and Best Actress prizes respectively for the movie and Anjali Menon for Best Screenplay. Parvathy Thiruvothu later won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress and Anjali Menon won the Filmfare Award for Best Director. Later Bangalore Naatkal a Tamil remake of the film was released (2016).

One of the best Malayalam films produced during the New-Generation cinema trend is thought to have been this one. In 2023 Yaariyan 2 will be the Hindi version of the movie.

Trance (2020)

A 2020 Indian Malayalam-language neo-noir psychological thriller titled Trance was written by Vincent Vadakkan directed produced and edited by Anwar Rasheed. In addition to Fahadh Faasil Dileesh Pothan Gautham Vasudev Menon Nazriya Nazim Chemban Vinod Vinayakan Sreenath Bhasi Arjun Ashokan Soubin Shahir and Jinu Joseph the cast also includes Nazriya Nazim.

Anwar Rasheed Entertainment the company Rasheed himself founded produced the movie. The storyline of the movie covers the activities in the life of Viju Prasad who is portrayed by Faasil and works as a motivational speaker for atheists in Kanyakumari. He is employed by a scam agency to pose as a Christian pastor. The commercialization of spirituality religion and substance abuse are all topics covered in the movie.

Almost eight years had passed since Rasheed's last film Ustad Hotel and Trance marked his comeback to directing (2012). Principal photography started in July 2017 and ended on September 1 2019 with a $35 crore budget. The majority of the film was shot in Mumbai India Dubai and Kanyakumari's coastal regions.

Ante Sundaraniki (2022)

In 2022 Vivek Athreya will write and direct the romantic comedy Ante Sundaraniki! in the Indian Telugu language. Nani and Nazriya Nazim appear in the Mythri Movie Makers-produced film (in her Telugu debut). The interfaith couple Sundar and Leela are the subject of the movie. They attempt to convince their parents of their marriage by telling a series of lies but this just leads to more difficult circumstances for them.

Principal photography for the movie took place between April 2021 and January 2022; it was announced in November 2020. Hyderabad and the United States were where the majority of the movie was filmed. The movie Ante Sundaraniki! debuted to favorable reviews from critics on June 10 2022 when it was released in theaters. The movie made more than Rs. 38 crores at the box office.

On its first day Ante Sundaraniki made 7.5 crores in international box office revenue with 4 crores coming from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and $438 000 (or 3.4 crores) from the United States. In its opening weekend the movie made 26.25 crore rupees. The movie made almost 32.6 crores in its first week of release with the distributor receiving a cut of 18.39 crore. Ante Sundaraniki is Nani's seventh movie to gross more than $1 million in the US.

Sookshmadarshini

Sookshmadarshini is a 2024 Indian Malayalam-language black comedy mystery thriller directed by M. C. Jithin.
