Shershaah is a Hindi biographical war movie based on the life of Vikram Batra, a soldier who died in the Kargil War. It was written by Sandeep Shrivastava and directed by Vishnuvardhan, who was making his Hindi cinema debut. Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Shabbir Boxwala, Ajay Shah, and Himanshu Gandhi served as producers with Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment. Young Vikram Batra develops feelings of love for Dimple while aspiring to be a soldier. Soon after completing his training, he climbs into the military and assists India conquer the Kargil war.
At the beginning of the film, Vikram is shown as an ambitious and patriotic individual who is eager to join the army and serve his country. Despite the concerns of his family and girlfriend, Dimple, he sets off to fulfill his dream of becoming a soldier. He quickly rises through the ranks and becomes a respected leader in the military.
As the Kargil War breaks out, Vikram is sent to the front lines to lead a dangerous mission to recapture the strategically important peak of Point 5140. Despite being aware of the risks involved, he is determined to succeed and willing to put his own life on the line. Through his bravery, leadership, and unwavering determination, Vikram inspires his fellow soldiers and secures the peak, earning him the respect and admiration of the country.
