The auditions are reported to happen from July through September 2023. According to the organisers, the auditions for the show are scheduled to commence on July 15, 2023. The venues and other details have yet to be announced by the organisers.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa first aired on May 1, 1995. Renowned playback singer Sonu Nigam hosted the inaugural episode of the show. In 2000, the sons of the legendary sarod player Amjad Ali Khan, Ayaan Ali Bangash and Amaan Ali Bangash, also known as the talented 'Bangash Brothers', hosted the show. The show's hosting duties were then taken over by the versatile singer Shaan in 2002.
The format of the show was initially centred around music-expert judges who scored the contestants. However, this format changed with the introduction of the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005. The new format involved judges acting as mentors of different teams, and the scoring was primarily based on public votes.
The show was hosted by a range of talented individuals, including Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Karan Singh Rathore, Purab Kohli, Manish Paul, Archana Jani, Vipul Roy, Bharti Singh, Jay Soni, and even child hosts Afsha Musani and Dhairya Sorecha.
