Plot

The plot revolves around the wealthy Shirke Patil family of Kolhapur, which includes patriarch Yashwant Shirke-Patil (Dada), his wife Nandini (Mai), sons Malhar and Uday, and their respective wives Shalini and Devki. Malhar and Uday, who are naturally money-minded and influenced by their wives, are constantly attempting to swindle their parents' money to satisfy their own selfish interests. Gauri, a maid who was taken in by the family after her father sacrificed himself to save Dadasaheb's life, is also a member of the household. Despite being treated as a daughter by Mai and Dadasaheb, she is constantly berated and ill-treated by the rest of the family, with the exception of Malhar, who sympathises with her.

The plot begins when Jaydeep Shirke-Patil, the Shirke-youngest Patil's son, returns from London with his girlfriend, Jyotika, whom he intends to marry. Having avoided the influence of his devious brothers and sisters-in-law, he strives to keep the family together while also providing Gauri with the kindness she deserves. Jaydeep eventually marries Gauri to protect her honour after a series of difficult situations. Maisaheb is not happy with their marriage at first and constantly tells Gauri that she is incompatible with her son, Jaydeep, because he is highly educated and Gauri is not. A series of events leads Maisaheb to believe that Gauri is the best possible wife for Jaydeep. Later, Gauri attempts to confess his childhood love to Jaydeep, but Jaydeep denies her feelings and claims that they are just best friends and married couples to others.

The series was scheduled to begin production in March 2020, but it was delayed until later in the year due to India's COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Its promotional video was also released in March 2020. Later, at the end of July 2020, a new promotional video was released. Filming finally began on July 20, 2020.  On July 20, 2020, it was revealed that Mandar Jadhav had been cast as the show's main lead.

It was soon announced that actress Girija Prabhu would play the female lead in the series. The following month, veteran actress Varsha Usgaonkar was cast in a key role in the show, marking her return to Marathi television after a ten-year absence. Sunil Godse, Kapil Honrao, Madhavi Nimkar, and Meenakshi Rathod round out the cast.
