Navratri is a festival where people celebrate for nine nights and worship the goddess Durga. They offer prayers and perform aarti. Shardiya Navratri in 2023 is to start on October 15th and conclude on October 24th. The aarti is important because it is believed to bring the blessings and presence of the goddess. It is a way to create a positive atmosphere and show devotion to the goddess.

Ghatasthapana 

Ghatasthapana is an important ritual during Navratri where we invoke the goddess Shakti. It is crucial to perform it at the right time to avoid any negative consequences. We should not do Ghatasthapana on Amavasya or during nighttime.

The best time to do Ghatasthapana is during the first one-third of the day when Pratipada is happening. If we can't do it then, we can choose the Abhijit Muhurta. It's better to avoid the Nakshatra Chitra and Vaidhriti Yoga, but it's not necessary. The main thing is to do Ghatasthapana before midday while Pratipada is happening.

घटस्थापना 

घटस्थापना हा नवरात्रीतील एक महत्त्वाचा विधी आहे. नऊ दिवसांच्या उत्सवाची सुरुवात होते. नवरात्रीच्या सुरुवातीस ठराविक कालावधीत घटस्थापना करण्याचे नियम आणि मार्गदर्शक तत्त्वे आपल्या शास्त्रांमध्ये स्पष्ट आहेत. घटस्थापना हे देवी शक्तीचे आवाहन आहे आणि चुकीच्या वेळी ते करणे, जसे आपल्या धर्मग्रंथांनी आधीच सांगितले आहे, देवी शक्तीचा क्रोध होऊ शकतो. अमावस्या आणि रात्रीच्या वेळी घटस्थापना निषिद्ध आहे.

घटस्थापना करण्यासाठी सर्वात शुभ किंवा शुभ मुहूर्त म्हणजे प्रतिपदा प्रचलित असताना दिवसाचा पहिला एक तृतीयांश आहे. काही कारणांमुळे ही वेळ उपलब्ध नसल्यास अभिजित मुहूर्तावर घटस्थापना करता येते. घटस्थापना दरम्यान नक्षत्र चित्र आणि वैधृती योग टाळण्याचा सल्ला दिला जातो परंतु ते निषिद्ध नाहीत. विचार करण्याजोगा सर्वात महत्त्वाचा घटक म्हणजे घटस्थापना हे प्रतिपदा प्रचलित असताना हिंदू मध्यान्हपूर्वी केले जाते.

The Ritual of Navratri Aarti

The Navratri Aarti is performed in temples, homes, and pandals during the nine nights of Navratri. Here is a step-by-step guide to performing the Navratri Aarti

Preparation

Before starting the aarti, clean the puja area and decorate it with flowers, diyas (earthen lamps), and other auspicious items. 

Lighting the Lamp

Begin the aarti by lighting a ghee lamp or camphor in front of the idol or image of Goddess Durga.

Navratri Mantras

Chant the Navratri mantras dedicated to Goddess Durga special mantra for each Durga to chant accordingly 

Day 1- Goddess Shailputri

Mantra: ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं शैलपुत्र्यै नमः।

Day 2: Goddess Brahmacharini

Mantra: ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं ब्रह्मचारिण्यै नमः।

Day 3: Goddess Chandraghanta

Mantra: ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं चन्द्रघंटायै नमः।

Day 4: Goddess Kushmanda

Mantra: ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं कूष्मांडायै नमः।

Day 5: Goddess Skandamata

Mantra: ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं स्कंदमातायै नमः।

Day 6: Goddess Katyayani

Mantra: ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं कात्यायन्यै नमः।

Day 7: Goddess Kalaratri

Mantra: ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं कालरात्र्यै नमः।

Day 8: Goddess Mahagauri

Mantra: ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं महागौर्ये नमः।

Day 9: Goddess Siddhidatri

Mantra: ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं सिद्धिदात्र्यै नमः।
