Biography 

Aakanksha Singh, born July 30, 1990, is an Indian actress who works predominantly in Hindi and Telugu films and television. She began her career in theatre and made her television debut in the 2012-2014 season of Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha. With Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), she made her feature debut.

Childhood and Education

Aakanksha was born and brought up in  Jaipur, Rajasthan. Aakanksha did education in Physiotherapy. She became a physiotherapist after completing her studies.

Career

Aakanksha made her television debut in 2012 with the drama Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha. She played Megha Vyas Bhatnagar, a widowed mother of two, opposite Kunal Karan Kapoor. For her performance, she received an Indian Telly Award for Fresh New Face - Female. The show concluded after two seasons in 2013. In 2015, she appeared in the limited series Gulmohar Grand. She portrayed Anahita Annie Mehta Fernandez in the hotel industry show. In 2016, Aakanksha played for the side Ahmedabad Express in the Box Cricket League. She appeared as a lawyer in an episode of Aye Zindagi in 2017.Aakanksha made her movie debut in 2017 with the Hindi film Badrinath Ki Dulhania. She made her Telugu debut in the same year with Malli Raava, opposite Sumanth. It received mixed to favourable reviews, and for her performance, she was nominated for a SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut - Telugu. In 2018, she co-starred with Nagarjuna in her second Telugu film, Devadas. It was a commercial success and earned favourable reviews.She also acted in two short films that year, Methi Ke Laddoo and Qaid. 

Aakanksha made her Kannada film debut in 2019 with Pailwaan, in which she co-starred with Sudeep. It was released in five languages and was a moderate box office success. She made her web debut in 2021 with the Telugu web series Parampara. It first aired on Disney+ Hotstar. She made her Tamil debut in 2022 with the Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Clap, in which she co-starred with Aadhi Pinisetty. It was made available on the SonyLIV platform. She then starred in the critically panned Tamil film Veerapandiyapuram. She then played Ajay Devgn's wife in the Hindi film Runway 34, her second Hindi film. It garnered a mixed bag of positive and negative feedback. In her debut Hindi web series Escaype Live on Disney+ Hotstar, she played a cop. Aakanksha will next be seen in the Hindi online series Rangbaaz: Darr Ki Rajneeti, starring alongside Viineet Kumar. She has also acted in Nani's anthology film Meet Cute in Telugu.

The film stars Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, and Rakul Peet Singh, as well as Boman Irani, Angira Dhar, and Aakanksha Singh in significant parts.On April 29, 2022, Runway 34 was released in theatres. It earned mixed to excellent reviews but flopped at the box office. On June 24, 2022, it became available for digital streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Aakanksha Singh plays Samaira Khanna, Vikrant's wife.

Malli Raava (translated as Come Back Again) is a 2017 Telugu-language love drama film written and directed by rookie Gowtam Tinnanuri and produced by Rahul Yadav Nakka. Sumanth and Aakanksha Singh star in the film, with the latter making her Telugu film debut. Shravan Bharadwaj composed the soundtrack. The film was released on December 8, 2017, garnered positive critical reviews, and went on to become a box office success. The plot is a love story about Karthik and Anjali, whose paths cross at three different points in their lives.

Meet Cute

Meet Cute is a SonyLIV-produced 2022 Indian Telugu-language Anthology Drama streaming television series written and directed by debutante Deepthi Ganta. Adah Sharma, Sathyaraj, Ashwin Kumar Lakshmikanthan, Ruhani Sharma, Aakanksha Singh, Shiva Kandukuri, and Sanchitha Poonacha play the main characters in the series. Vijay Bulganin has composed the soundtrack and is produced by Nani and Prashanti Tipirneni under 'Wall Poster Cinema' banner. The trailer for the series was released on November 18, 2022, and the series premiered on November 25, 2022, and it was highly welcomed by critics and audiences alike. Aakanksha plays Pooja in the show.
