When To Sing Ganesh Ji Ki Aarti
The Aarti is mostly done during Ganesh Chaturthi - a ten-day festival that usually takes place between August and September. In 2023, this festival starts on September 19th. During these ten days, the Aarti is performed two times every day - once when the sun rises and once when the sun sets. But you can also do the Aarti as part of your daily prayers, any time of the year.
How Is Ganpati Aarti Performed
Light a Diya (lamp) - This is usually an oil lamp that we place near the image or statue of Lord Ganesha.
Light Incense Sticks (Agarbatti) - We do this to create a calm and peaceful atmosphere.
Sing the Aarti - Everyone can sing the Aarti together. Usually, bells are rung, hands are clapped, and music can be played while singing.
Give Offerings - We offer things like flowers, sweets (like laddus), and fruits to Lord Ganesha. It's a way to show our love and respect.
Walk Around (Pradakshina) - After the Aarti, we walk around the image or statue of Lord Ganesha. This shows our total respect and love for God.
