7½ Phere Plot 

A national TV network chooses to focus on the timeless topic of weddings in Indian families after seeing great success with soaps centred on traditional families as it enters the "Reality TV" phase of programming. Channel asks the boy with blue eyes to develop the programme. The first-time director Asmi Ganatra and her team learn that Joshi's family is currently the only one in Mumbai whose members satisfy the requirements of the programming brief.

When Asmi asks to cover the wedding for the TV network on a visit, the Joshis are shocked. Even if the bride's father is open to the notion, the old guard, who make up the family's Mafia, plays the card of family pride and rejects the proposal. Asmi has learned that the youngest uncle of the bride, Manoj Joshi, has developed feelings for her.

She draws him to an arrangement where a multi-camera set-up is covertly installed in the enormous mansion, fully aware that her career would be derailed if she failed to close the deal with the bride's family.

To his dismay, Manoj discovers that he has unlocked Pandora's box. His family acts as they normally would without being aware of the concealed cameras, and gradually skeletons begin to emerge from the cupboard. Joshi's family's privacy is violated by candid cameras, and events that should remain hidden are brought to light, giving the channel enough of maal masala to boost their TRP ratings
