Rajkumar Santoshi directed and Ramesh Taurani produced Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, a 2009 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film. Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif appear in the flick. It's the story of Prem Sharma, played by Ranbir Kapoor, a slacker who operates a slacker club, who falls in love with Jenny Pinto, played by Katrina Kaif by chance.

The film begins with a reporter approaching a town that appears to be abandoned, complete with a talking statue. The reporter inquires of the statue as to where the town's residents are, and the statue proceeds to tell the reporter the narrative behind it.

Prem Shankar Sharma is a freeloader who meets Jennifer "Jenny" Pinto while assisting a buddy elope . They both have the tendency to stutter when they are passionate; in this case, Jenny's stammer causes Prem to stammer as well, but Jenny misinterprets his stammer as a parody of her. Although this initially makes her despise Prem, she comes to terms with him after discovering that his stammer is genuine.

Pitambar Jalan, Rahul's father and a politician, dislikes Jenny and is adamantly opposed to Jenny and Rahul dating, owing to the religious divide between Jenny and Rahul (Jenny is a Christian and Rahul is a Hindu). Pitambar insults Prem when he visits Rahul's residence for Jenny's proposal to Rahul. Prem persuades his mother Sharda to let Jenny stay with them while Jenny's family searches for her, but they are eventually apprehended by the cops. Jenny pretends to defend Rahul's reputation by claiming that she and Prem are in love. While Prem confirms Jenny's deception, he becomes upset and expresses his actual affections for her, which Jenny misinterprets as overacting.

Prem and Jenny are successful in getting Jenny and Rahul to reconcile at a club where Rahul's birthday celebration is being held, and eventually persuade Pitambar and his wife Vidya Jalan (Dolly Bindra) to support the relationship. Prem is then informed by Rahul that he and Jenny will be preparing for the wedding in two days.

Jenny is abducted by Sajid Don a day before the wedding, and he demands a ransom from Pitambar in return for her. Sajid Don's warehouse is where Prem and his friends find her. Prem's and Sajid Don's gangs get into a comical brawl. Shiv Shankar Sharma, Prem's father, joins the fight, and Sajid Don, a wanted criminal, is apprehended.

Rahul and a Pitambar who is running for office inform the media that they were the ones who got into a fight with Sajid Don in order to buy a good name for Pitambar before the elections. Jenny discovers on Jenny and Rahul's wedding day that Prem actually provided permission to Rahul and Pitambar to broadcast their phoney story. This, combined with her memories of Prem's devoted care for her in the past, convinces her that she truly loves Prem and that Rahul and his family are actually selfish, causing her to flee as a runaway bride.

Meanwhile, Prem, who is about to leave town, is stopped by an actor dressed as Jesus, who asks him to direct him to an address, leading him back to the church, where he meets Jenny. The actor then vanishes, revealing that he was actually Jesus Christ, who took on a human form to unite Prem and Jenny after hearing her prayers in the Church. She marries Prem in a simple ceremony at a marriage registration office, and the two live happily ever after.

The movie was a box office hit and was one of the highest grossing films of 2009, behind 3 Idiots and Love Aaj Kal. It also had some very famous actors in its main cast like Abhay Bhargava, Mithilesh Chaturvedi, Shyam Mashalkar and Govind Namdev, to name a few.
