Two Dalit girls are kidnapped in a school bus in the village of Lalgaon. Ayan Ranjan, an IPS officer, is given the case and collaborates closely with Brahmdutt and Jatav, two other officials. When Ayan runs into his old buddy Satinder, who acts suspiciously and vanishes the following morning, he discovers that the villagers' belief in caste prejudice is the main issue. 

One of the girls disappears, and the bodies of the other two are discovered hanging from a tree. An autopsy reveals that they were raped repeatedly. Gaura, the sister of one of the deceased girls, tells Ayan that Anshu, their employer, smacked them when they requested a three-rupee rise in their daily pay. Ayan discovers that Anshu committed this act because of caste discrimination, and uploads a copy of Article 15 to support her claim.
