Bard of Blood is an Indian spy thriller television series based on Bilal Siddiqi's 2015 espionage novel of the same name. The series stars Emraan Hashmi, Kirti Kulhari, Vineet Kumar Singh, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Sobhita Dhulipala and is directed by Ribhu Dasgupta and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment. It's a seven-episode drama centred on the story of an ex-IIW agent. The Netflix original series premiered on September 27th, 2019.

Kabir Anand is a former Indian Intelligence Wing (IIW) operative who fell out when his companion was killed in an operation. He is now a literature teacher who cares after the wife and son of his deceased friend. When four Indian intelligence operatives are kidnapped by the Taliban in Quetta, Sadiq Sheikh, the director of the secret service, dispatches a reluctant Kabir to rescue them. He first resists, but when he ultimately agrees to go on the mission, he arrives at Sadiq's residence to discover him dead. He is suspected of the crime and is interviewed by Arum Joshi, the intelligence chief, who later lets him go.

When Kabir notices a man taking photographs at Sadiq's cremation, he hunts him down and instead meets with analyst Isha Khanna. Kabir deduces from a statement left by Sadiq before his death that this mission in Balochistan will be unofficial and will involve him, Isha, and another agent named Veer Singh, who has been operating underground for a long time and wants to return home. While Kabir and his squad work together to execute the goal once they meet, they face numerous hurdles on their route to Quetta, while Arun learns of the unofficial mission and begins tracking them.

Bard of Blood was received well by audiences for its picturesque filming of the valleys of Leh Ladakh, its action sequences and brilliant acting by the lead stars. It was also praised for not portraying talibans as caricaturish goons and as actual threat. It also starred some very famous actors like Rajit Kapur, Komal Chhabria, Shruti Marathe and Nitish Kapoor, among others in recurring roles.
