Chidiya Ghar was a Sony SAB sitcom that aired from November 28, 2011 until October 2, 2017. Under the umbrella of Garima Productions, Ashwni Dhir produced the series. The show's name comes from the Hindi word "chidiya ghar," which means "zoo," and all of the characters in the show have Hindi animal names. It starred some prominent actors like Rajendra Gupta, Sumit Arora, Aditi Sajwan, Paresh Ganatra and Mamta Gurnani in lead roles.

Mrs. Chidiya Kesari Narayan, the late wife of retired principal Shri Kesari Narayan, is honoured at Chidiya Ghar in Banaras. Kesari, his sons Ghotak and Gomukh, and their wives Koyal and Mayuri, younger son Kapi and his wife Chuhiya, grandchildren Gillu, Gaj, Machar, Makhi, and daughter Maina, son-in-law Totaram, sister Billo, servant Gadha Prasad, his wife Naagin/Markatti, and brother Mendak Prasad are all featured in the story.

Their names resemble animals, and each person possesses some animal trait, and Kesari always teaches them a lesson that will be useful in the future, after they have solved the problems from previous lessons. In honour of Kesari Narayan's contributions, their colony was named "Chidiya Ghar." 

Kesari Narayan, aka Baabuji of Chidiya Ghar, imparts educational principles through this show, which he refers to as "Sanskaar." Each one-to-ten-episode story begins with Kesari teaching an idiom through his Chidiyaghar Pathshala, followed by a scenario in which the idiom comes true.

Chidiya Ghar was one of the most popular shows to air on SAB TV, second only to Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. It was loved by children and adults alike and was praised for the knowledge it shared through its episodes. It also starred Debina Bonnerjee, Jayshree Soni, Rohitashv Gour, Raquib Arshad and Shafaq Naaz, among others, in recurring roles.
