48 hours before India and Pakistan's championship game in a cricket tournament in the Middle East, India's star player Viraj Sharma vanishes. The Indian government receives a videotape of an unidentified man accusing him of kidnapping Viraj before the cricket match between India and Pakistan two days later and pleading with them not to call off the game.
Indian External Affairs Minister Gayatri Shubha Mishra sent IPS Special Task Force Officer Kabir Shergill to the United Arab Emirates for a 36-hour manhunt in an effort to quell the public fury. After being greeted by and getting into a minor altercation with a local police officer, Saeed Naqvi, Kabir, a no-nonsense officer, runs into a rookie Indo-Emirati police officer named Junaid Ansari. Although he has never been able to crack a case, Ansari has a good understanding of the community thanks to his first unsuccessful case involving the search for a dog named Bradman. When Kabir and Junaid begin their investigation with a CCTV video of Viraj's hotel, they learn that Viraj went out with a local girl named Samira Dalal the night he vanished.
Later, they wander around the town and come across a local thug known only as Khabri Chacha. He points them in the direction of Sameer Gazi, the greatest party animal in the area who met Viraj at the same party, but they are still unable to find any clues. The team makes a breakthrough when they find Viraj's smartphone at the apartment of Ishika, a pickpocket who claims to have taken it the previous evening from a stranger in a supermarket. During this period, Junaid finally locates Bradman and swears to keep track of him by attaching a tracker band with a covert camera to his neck.
The two also succeed in apprehending the subject of the video, but they soon learn that the real kidnapper had only utilised a struggling actress to pass for the subject. Junaid is astonished, though, when the actor identifies the "stranger" Ishika had identified as the wanted person who conducted his audition. The actor hands Kabir a sketch of the evidence and begs him to approach Saeed, Junaid's superior, to name the stranger. The real kidnapper, it turns out, is cricket bookie Wagah, who kidnapped Viraj along with his aide Altaf, the stranger, and offered him 300 million rupees to underplay in the championship game.
They finally reach an agreement on a price of 500 million, but when the deal fell through and Viraj turned on them, they permanently abduct him until the last match is played after fooling an imposter Wagah into thinking he would underplay. In the state of Abuddin, where Altaf is from, Kabir, a suspended Junaid, and Ishika visit an underground Arabian club where there are goons and guns. Ishika aids Kabir and Junaid by distracting the goons, and Kabir subsequently rescues her from them. On the trip, Junaid tells Ishika that Kabir battled cancer, was duped by his lover as a result and has been missing his grin ever since.
After hearing this, Ishika grows fond of Kabir and takes images of the two of them while he is still asleep to present to his newly dumped girlfriend Alishka. When Kabir sees Altaf, he and another person try to catch up with him, but Altaf is killed by a sniper before they can. Wagah phones Kabir and admits that he killed him, telling him to give up looking for Viraj. When Wagah confronts Viraj, he threatens to kill his family, shoots a partner in Mumbai and his own manager, and then orders his wife to leave with their son. Wagah is left alone with only Bradman at his side—who is later identified as the family dog.
Kabir and Junaid are removed from the case upon their return to Abu Dhabi, and Kabir is given the go-ahead to depart for India. Ishika goes soft and tells Junaid she has affection for Kabir when she sees him heading towards the airport. Junaid discovers Viraj's whereabouts at the eleventh hour thanks to the camera on Bradman's neckband, as Wagah has concealed him on a yacht close to the team's hotel. As soon as Wagah realised Bradman was carrying a GPS tracker, he escaped, leaving Viraj bound with a time bomb when they arrived at the scene. As the bomb's detonation time approaches, Kabir bargains with Wagah to stop the explosion in exchange for 5 billion rupees from the Indian government.
After seeing the explosion from a distance, Wagah enters the cricket stadium expecting Viraj to be gone, but to his surprise, Viraj is still alive and enters the field fully prepared to play. It later turns out that Kabir and Junaid assisted Viraj in removing the jacket by dislocating his shoulder, and that all three had jumped into the water just prior to the explosion. Wagah attempts to flee after realising his plot has failed only to be caught by the two. While Junaid, who has rediscovered his sense of duty, receives a wedding proposal from an Indian girl named Muskaan and travels to India to meet her, Kabir, who has developed love for Ishika, comes to India with her.
