Nikhil's grandfather and aunt (bua) reside in Sonbarsa, where he intends to celebrate his birthday. Ishana, his childhood girlfriend, declines his invitation to accompany her. There he meets Laajo, a difficult but straightforward young woman who resides with her mother and sisters. Laajo and Nikhil frequently engage in humorous altercations. Nikhil reluctantly marries Laajo and brings her to the city due to a multitude of issues.

Laajo struggles to fit in with Nikhil and his family because she is not familiar with how things operate in a modern home. She makes a gradual effort to establish rapport with him and his family. However, their marriage life is filled with various struggles and incidents which form the crux of this show.
