The 1998 Indian action movie Himmatwala, starring Mithun Chakraborty and Ayesha Jhulka, was directed by Jayant Gilatar and released in the Hindi language. Shakti Kapoor, Dina Pathak, Tiku Talsania, and Tinnu Anand played other significant roles.  Radhika and Rajesh Sharma are introduced in the movie.

With his wife Radha and sister Kiran, Kishan has a contented existence in a sleepy village. When Kishan learns that his sister is in love with Suraj, the village chief, and brother of Chandra Prakash, he travels to Chandra Prakash's residence with his sister's proposal. This infuriates Chandra Prakash, who then humiliates and belittles Kisha.After being hit in the head, Kishan loses his sanity and reverts to having a mental age of 7.

He offers assistance to another eloped pair Raja and Kajal, who resembles his sister Kiran, and in doing so regains his sanity. Will he succeed where his sister failed in reuniting Kajal with her lover?

Suraj arrives to inform Kishan that, come what may and with or without his brothers' approval, he will wed Kiran. Chandra Prakash shows up and kills Kiran and Suraj in front of everyone while they are being married.
