The movie, which is based on the life of Vijay Barse, tells the story of a sports teacher who, on the verge of retirement, assembles a football team made up of kids from a slum and how just one game could change everyone's destiny. Taran Adarsh, a film critic and industry analyst, tweeted the film's release date as September 20, 2019. Later, the new date was set for December 13, 2019. The movie's release date was set for May 8, 2020, on January 21, 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic caused a further delay in the release of the movie. The movie's release has been postponed until October 2020 while the creators try to settle copyright disputes in the courts. The movie premiered on March 4, 2022.
