Jijaji Chhat Per Hain is a hilarious tale about Elaichi, the stereotypical girl next door, Murari Bansal, the head of the home and proprietor of a lehenga business, and their helpless renter, Pancham. It is set in Delhi's Chandni Chowk. The plot centres on Elaichi's mischief and eccentricity, Pancham's attempts to avoid her traps, and Murari's desire to persuade his daughter to change her infamous habits and find a stable place in life. However, things take a humorous turn when Murari lets Pancham use his rooftop quarters, or "barsati." Elaichi chooses Pancham as her new prank victim after falling in love with him at first sight. Pancham is utterly oblivious of this and ends up working with Murari to make ends meet and achieve his goals.
