Uncannily told by a Dagger, Katyar Kaljat Ghusali depicts the story of the agony of the art of music.

The musical group Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy reconstructed the music from the original play, which is used in the film. A few brand-new songs have also been written specifically for the movie. The Keeravani raga is the foundation of the song "Dil Ki Tapish."

Katyar Kaljat Ghusali received an IMDB rating of 8.8 out of 10. In its first week of release, the movie made over Rs 80 million. One of the highest-grossing Marathi films ever, the film's favourable reviews helped it to earn about Rs 300 million at the box office.
