Maharakshak: Devi is a children's superhero television series that debuted on Zee TV on March 14 and ran through June 7 of that same year. It was produced by Essel Vision Productions and directed by Vaibhav Mutha. The star cast included Umang Jain, Rohit Bakshi, Indraneil Sengupta, Karan Suchak, and Shresth Uppal in the key parts. Each episode lasted 50 minutes and there were a total of 26 episodes. It has an IMDb rating of 7.4 out of 10.

The show centres on Gauri, a manifestation of the Hindu goddess Devi/Durga, and tells her story. Gauri's Guru, Brihaspati, who discovered her when she was a baby floating in the river, reared and trained her for the first 17 years of her life. She finally engages in combat with a number of modern-day asuras, including Bhasmasura, Kumbhakarna, Mahishasura, Raktabja, Sumbha, and Nisumbha, while serving their guru Shukracharya. Brihaspati, Tiger, Inspector Narayan, and Krishna are her allies and advisers.

Devi is the tale of the world's most powerful girl who is not aware of her exceptional abilities. Her first 17 years of life were spent outside of human civilisation. Devi's incredible journey begins as she integrates into human civilisation and faces off against modern horrors. Evils appear to be modern but have existed for generations in many different ways. Evil (Asuras) have existed across generations and remain in today's climate in contemporary style incarnation. Devi will defeat these asuras with her power.
