Murder is a Hindi romantic-thriller movie from the year 2004 and is written and directed by Anurag Basu.

The story starts with Simran, who lives in Bangkok with her husband Sudhir and the child from his first marriage to her sister, who feels lonely and forgotten by her husband. An accidental encounter with an old flame leads to a rekindled and passionate affair until she realizes how badly she could be destroying her marriage. Sudhir has grown suspicious and hired a private detective who provides him with overwhelming evidence of his wife's deception. Sudhir decides to confront his adversary.

Murder received an IMDB rating of 5.5 out of 10. Murder garnered mixed reviews from Indian cinema reviewers.

Murder 2 was released on July 8, 2011, starring Emraan Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandez, and was partially based on the 2008 Korean thriller The Chaser (film). The sequel outperformed Murder in terms of box office, becoming a blockbuster.
