Ok Jaanu is a Hindi romantic movie about ambitious individuals Adi and Tara who fall in love after meeting at a wedding. They choose a live-in relationship with no conditions, but when their occupations separate them, they second-guess their choice.

Aditya "Adi" Gunjal (Aditya Roy Kapur), who wants to become a successful video game developer in the US, relocates to Mumbai to work for a gaming company run by his boss (Prahlad Kakkar). He sees a girl (Shraddha Kapoor) attempting to jump in front of an approaching train at the Mumbai train station. Adi shouts at her in horror. Then the girl vanishes.

Later, when at the wedding of his buddy Jenny, Adi notices the station girl. Tara Agnihotri is the name the girl gives herself. Due to their shared assumptions regarding the dysfunctionality of the institution of marriage, Adi and Tara connect on a deep level. Also disclosed by Tara is the fact that her antics at the train station were a ruse to get rid of her ex-boyfriend who wanted to marry her. The two strike a chord and decide to be in a live-in relationship and thus the movie moves ahead.
