The two superheroes are Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (N. T. Rama Rao Jr.), a member of the imperial police force and a liberation warrior for India, respectively. To save Malli from the evil English Governor Buxton (Ray Stevenson), who had bought the young woman as a gift for his wife, Bheem is dispatched to Delhi. 

The story of RRR draws inspiration from the old Sanskrit epic Ramayana but also contains real-world roots. The real-life Indian liberation heroes Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem never ever met and lived decades apart from one another. Therefore, RRR is a fictitious portrayal of the lives of each of these men.
