The movie begins with two Sutradhar (storytellers) introducing Ashwin, a powerful media figure who likes to show the viewers the news that he wants according to his views against the backdrop of Tamasha (Marathi flock). The woman seen falling from the high-rise building in the following frame has since been identified as Bhakti, a street-kid from the slums who worked as a background dancer in movies. Shefali, a part-time reporter for an obscure channel, wants to work with Ashwin but he ridicules her and her goals. Shefali decides to cover her story, becomes famous, and receives a makeover that same night because she can't forget the insult she received from Ashwin. She was the first to see Bhakti fall. When Shefali offends his ego, Ashwin, who is not in the mood to broadcast news about Bhakti on his channel, views it as a challenge to do so. Bhakti's death becomes merely a hot selling news item in the competition between two powerful media figures who want to be one above the other in order to raise their channel TRP.
