Tera Yaar Hoon Main Plot

The lovely and devoted family of Rajeev Bansal, a simpleton bank manager, includes his wife Jhanvi, kids Trishala and Rishabh, parents Pratap and Sushma, brother Rajan, sister-in-law Ruchi, and nephew Varun. They reside in Jaipur. Rishabh, a teenager from the current generation, is gloomy, lively, and cool. He is close with Jhanvi and confides in all of their unique times, but he doesn't click as well with Rajeev. Rajeev wants to become Rishabh's close friend and confidant in order to bridge their age gap. Even though Rishabh thinks his father's attempts to become friends with him are a little juvenile, Rajeev persists and eventually makes friends with his son.

When Jhanvi is driving, Rajeev and Jhanvi are once speaking on the phone. As a result, Jhanvi misses the person in front of her car until she recognizes him and swiftly turns. Although Jhanvi accidentally impacts another automobile, the pedestrian lives. She perishes in the fatal collision, as does the man in the other vehicle.

After a year, Rajeev no longer cares about his life as a result of Jhanvi's passing. Daljeet Bagga, a new senior manager from Punjab who had lost her spouse, Ravinder, in a car accident, has joined his bank. When welcoming Daljeet, Rajeev makes an embarrassing error that gives the wrong impression. Both of them immediately despise one other as Daljeet humiliates him in front of everyone. On the inside, Daljeet is a loving and sensitive person, though. When Rajeev learns about the dark side of her life—Shakti, Ravinder's vindictive and cruel younger brother—attempting to kidnap Daljeet's children Balwinder "Barry" and Twinkle from her in court since they are Ravinder's property heirs—he feels pity for her.

Rajeev finds out that the other victim of Jhanvi's accident was Daljeet's husband. He marries Daljeet in court after being shocked and feeling guilty to keep her children safe. She obtains custody for Barry and Twinkle, but Rajeev's family objects to their relationship even knowing that their marriage is really a fictitious document. Barry and Rishabh continue to argue and grow to be fierce adversaries. Rajeev and Daljeet are separated by Shakti several times, but she is unsuccessful. Everyone in the Bansal family accepts Daljeet after great difficulty, with the exception of Rajeev's children.

Barry originally detested Rajeev and loved Shakti, but Shakti's true nature quickly becomes apparent. To Rishabh's dismay, Barry begins to like Rajeev and eventually accepts him as his father. As Daljeet is trying to take Rishabh's father away from him, he refuses to think of her as his mother and despises her. In one instance, Daljeet defends Trishala from Rajeev and sticks up for her while being humiliated and teased. Trishala then understands Daljeet's affection for her and accepts her as her mother.

Though first hesitant, Daljeet gradually develops affections for Rajeev and declares her love to him. However, Rajeev refuses to accept Daljeet's feelings since he continues to live by Jhanvi's memories. Daljeet experiences heartbreak but keeps it a secret. The family members are shocked when Shakti tells them the truth regarding the legal foundation for Rajeev and Daljeet's marriage, but they still stand behind her. Shakti tries to take custody of Barry and Twinkle from Daljeet once more, but Rajeev recognises him for what he is. Despite winning the court, Daljeet's fictitious union with Rajeev is dissolved. The annulment leaves them both discouraged, and Rajeev unintentionally develops affection for her that he is unaware of.

At a party, Rishabh prepares to embarrass Daljeet by poisoning her drink. When she learns of his plans, he regrets it, but she still stands by him. In time, Rishabh grows to love Daljeet and recognises her as his mother.

Daljeet learns that Jhanvi was to blame for her husband's passing. She rejects Rajeev's honest attempts to make amends because she feels deceived and refuses to accept his apology. Seniors from his collage are also bullying Rishabh. Along with Rishabh, Barry beats the seniors while defending him. Eventually, Barry and Rishabh begin to understand one another and become friends.

In an unexpected turn of events, Daljeet is involved in an accident that Shakti had prepared as payback. By reducing Daljeet's oxygen intake while she is in the hospital, Shakti makes one more attempt to murder her. Rajeev, who is distraught, runs to the hospital, hugs Daljeet, and sobs. Suddenly, she miraculously opens her eyes and later fully recovers. Rajeev becomes aware that he is in love with Daljeet as a result of his fear of losing her. After seeing Rajeev's contrition and learning about the compassion he had for her while she was hospitalised, Daljeet decides to forgive him. Daljeet is overcome with pleasure as she embraces Rajeev and accepts his emotional proposal when he finally finds the guts to express his love to her after facing numerous obstacles.

They eventually tie the knot in a lavish ceremony.

Happiness, though, is fleeting. In a struggle with Rishabh, Barry sustains a severe brain injury and loses all recollection of the preceding year, in addition to forgetting about Rajeev and Daljeet's nuptials. In response to Rajeev's closeness to Daljeet, he reverts to the furious young man he was a year prior and begins to dislike Rajeev once more, which leads Rajeev and Daljeet to conceal their marriage. When Rajeev discovers the truth about Barry's accident, he severs all relations with Rishabh but is ultimately persuaded by Daljeet to pardon him after seeing Rishabh's concern for Barry and his contrition for his error.

In the meantime, Shakti makes a comeback and coerces Daljeet into giving him all of her assets by threatening to tell Barry about her marriage to Rajeev. Barry, in contrast, sees Shakti shoving a defenceless Daljeet and violently rips the title documents, forcing a humiliated Shakti to flee.

Daljeet's spouse, Ravinder, who was believed to be dead, turns out to be alive and comes back for Daljeet. Ravinder, who is devastated to learn that Daljeet has remarried, chooses to leave forever for her happiness, but his identity is unintentionally made public. By simulating a scenario from the past, Ravinder helps Barry regain his memories of the previous year and Rajeev-marriage, Daljeet's leading to the reconciliation of Rishabh and Barry.

As a stunned Daljeet struggles to decide between Rajeev and Ravinder, an equally shocked Rajeev comforts her and assures her that he would respect whichever choice she makes. Infected by his dread of losing Daljeet and coerced by a spiteful Shakti, Ravinder hatches a scheme to win her back. When Rajeev discovers Ravinder's self-serving intentions, he is outraged but chooses not to expose him. Rajeev pretends to have a serious illness in order to convince Daljeet to go with Ravinder, but Daljeet soon discovers the truth. She approaches Rajeev out of wrath and admits that she would perish without him as they reunite and embrace. After realising his error, Ravinder apologises to Rajeev.

Ravinder is shot while attempting to save Rajeev from Shakti, who is furious because his scheme failed. In response, Ravinder shoots Shakti, killing him. Before passing away, Ravinder requests that Rajeev look after Daljeet.

Rajeev and Daljeet are commemorating their first wedding anniversary six months later. Daljeet blushes as Rajeev romantically pops the question to her while everyone applauds the happy couple. With everyone's support and well wishes, Rishabh, who is currently in his first year at IIT, sets out to create the future he wants. Rajeev leaves Rishabh off at the railway station on his scooter as he notifies them that he is running late, capping the series not as a loving parent but as an encouraging buddy.
