The Shaukeens is a Hindi comedy movie and a remake of Basu Chatterjee's 1982 film Shaukeen.The story centres on three friends in their 60s who attempt to accomplish all of their life's goals before passing away.

Composers Yo Yo Honey Singh, Arko, Hard Kaur, and Vikram Negi are responsible for the songs in the movie. Sandeep Chowta composed the music for the movie. The movie's filming began on April 25, 2014, in Cape Town, South Africa. The hotel room was used to film the interior scenes.

Initially, Nargis Fakhri had been cast in the movie, but when she opted to leave for a Hollywood production, Spy, Shraddha Kapoor was given the part. Lisa Haydon was finally given the role, and she took it. Her debut solo heroine movie was this one.
