Udta Punjab is a Hindi movie with a narrative of drug misuse in the rich north Indian state of Punjab and how the youth there have fallen victim to it in large numbers, leading to a socio-economic downturn. 

The Udta Punjab movie shows the worsening drug problem in Punjab through four parallel stories—those of a Punjabi rock singer named Tommy Singh (Shahid), a Bihari immigrant named Kumari Pinky (Alia), a Sikh police officer named Sartaj (Diljit), and a psychiatrist named Preet (Kareena). Their lives are occasionally connected, but not often. 

Udta Punjab was first aired in the year 2016 on the 17th of June. Udta Punjab is also available on OTT platforms like Netflix and ZEE5. The movie is as long as 147 minutes.

Abhishek Chaubey is the director of Udta Punjab and the producers of the movie include Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Aman Gill, Vikas Bahl, and Madhu Mantena.
