Four young women friends who are all suffering problems in their romantic and familial ties are the subject of the story.
Two years have passed since Kalindi and Rishabh moved in together in Australia, yet despite her theoretical objection to the marriage and her fear of being married, Kalindi has a phobia of marriage. Her father, Kishan, remarried soon after her mother passed away, and her parents used to argue frequently. Kalindi is shocked when Rishabh asks her to marry him, but she eventually says yes out of concern for his happiness. In Delhi, Avni practises law with a focus on divorce disputes. While her mother searches for a good match for her, Avni is extremely anxious about getting married due to her daily professional experiences. Sakshi, who is already married, moved out of her husband's house and now resides with her parents. At this point, it is unknown why she and her spouse split up. With her husband John, an American, Meera has a kid named Kabir. For cultural grounds, her father, Kabir, was vehemently against the union. Although she misses him, Meera is still separated from her dad, and she won't see him until he welcomes John and her child.
For these few weeks, Kalindi lives with her uncle Kuki and his girlfriend while she flies to Delhi to get married. Kalindi declines Kishan's and his current wife Paromita's offers to assist her in planning her wedding. Rishabh's loving, honourable family and their close-knit support system for one another leave Kalindi speechless. She finds it disturbing that they give the significance of each ceremony and the religious traditions associated with a Hindu wedding far too much weight. She feels they will want a lot of her after marriage because she has always valued her individuality and individualism, and she finds this sappy. The fact that Kalindi rarely seems to have any relatives, that she is even separated from Kishan, and that the very unusual Kuki is single and has a live-in partner astonish Rishabh's family.
The engagement ceremony, which ends up being a disaster, is attended by all three of Kalindi's pals. Avni becomes inebriated and sleeps with Bhandari, a relative of Rishabh who is a complete stranger to her; they are discovered. Midway through the gathering, Sakshi, upset by the gossipy women's jabs, quits, and Meera is asked about the religious beliefs of her family. In the conclusion, Rishabh also makes a comment about Kalindi's lack of real family and friends. She flees her own engagement party out of rage over this.
The following morning, Kalindi is discovered in her childhood house by Avni, Sakshi, and Meera. Kalindi accepts Rishabh's apology, and they reconcile. He is informed by Kalindi that she won't be able to meet the demands of his family, and they agree to call off their engagement amicably. Avni, Sakshi, and Meera are unhappy about it and try to talk sense into her. Instead, Kalindi criticises each of her friends individually, which sparks a disagreement.
Sakshi buys her friends' friends a trip to Thailand since she thinks their problems have gotten out of hand. They reunite and open up about their own problems: Kalindi about her problems with commitment, Avni about her desire to marry the perfect guy, and Sakshi about the reasons her spouse wants to have a divorce. When he entered their bedroom one day and discovered her in a compromised situation, he was horrified and made the decision to divorce her. Sakshi feels too ashamed to be honest with her parents. Meera reveals that since Meera's son was born, it had been a year since they last made love. Everyone resolves to return and deal with their issues.
This recharges the friends, who decide to convince their lovers and families to either agree with them or leave them alone. Sakshi explains to her parents why her spouse doesn't understand her. They decide to provide her with substantial alimony as they assist her in getting a divorce. When Meera calls John, they reconcile. In order to meet everyone and bring his wife and child back with him, John first phones Kabir Sr. and tells him about Kabir Jr. Avni explains to her mother why she doesn't want to accept an arranged marriage. She slyly offers to update her mother on her exploits as she tries out different connections before making a choice. Friends of Kalindi put pressure on Kuki to cease their property and lifestyle-related dispute with Kishan. The brothers eventually settle their differences through conversation, and because neither of them has any further heirs, they agree to the notion that Kalindi gets the family home as a wedding gift. After that, she makes Rishabh a marriage proposal, and they accept. The ceremony is a modest affair with fewer attendees, and it takes place in her house. The gossipy women learn about Sakshi's substantial divorce settlement from her. Avni chooses to give Bhandari a chance after discovering his interest in her.
