The 2009 Indian action thriller movie Wanted was helmed by Prabhu Deva. Salman Khan, Ayesha Takia, and Prakash Raj star in the remake of the Mahesh Babu-starring Telugu film Pokiri from 2006, with Vinod Khanna, Mahesh Manjrekar, Mahek Chahal, and Inder Kumar playing supporting roles.

Wanted is a story about the city of Mumbai rifed with the land mafia. There are two rival gangs - one led by Gani Bhai from Dubai and the other led by Datta Pawle, a local don. They extort money from local builders under the pretext of "protection money" and either harass or kill them if their demands are not met. To put an end to this misery, IPS officer Ashraf Khan takes charge as the new Police Commissioner of Mumbai.

Radhe is a thug who would do anything for money. He was offered a place in Golden Bhai's (Gani Bhai's brother) team as a goon but he refused saying that he doesn't work for any gang. He then meets Jhanvi at Akshay's aerobics classes and instantly falls in love with her. Daulat Talpade, a corrupt senior inspector who works for Gani Bhai wants to make Jhanvi his mistress even after being rejected multiple times.

Jhanvi is abducted by Talpade but is saved by Radhe. She starts falling for him due to his kindness and is just about to express her feelings when Pawle's gang attacks them. Radhe fights back, killing them instantly. This reveals Radhe's true identity to Jhanvi and she is shocked to see Radhe kill people without remorse. 

Gani Bhai flies down from Dubai and kills Pawle. Radhe and him discuss blowing up a school but Radhe disapproves of it saying it would mean killing innocents. During their argument, police show up and catch Gani Bhai. In retaliation, his gang members kidnap Ashraf's daughter, drug her and make compromising videos of her and threaten Ashraf of leaking it in the media. With no options left, Ashraf lets Gani Bhai go.

When she was in a drugged state, Ashraf's daughter revealed that one of Gani's gang members is an undercover cop. They find out that an IPS officer named Rajveer Shekhawat, son of Shrikant Shekhawat is the mole. Thinking that Akshay is Rajveer, he kills him but it is later revealed that Akshay was Shrikant's adopted son. Infuriated, Gani orders his goons to Kill Shrikant so that the real Rajveer shows up. They kill him and to their surprise, they find out that Radhe is Rajveer. Rajveer shows up where Gani and his goons are. He kills everyone one by one in the climax scene and eventually kills Gani Bhai as well, slitting his throat with a broken window and rescuing Ashraf's daughter. 

Wanted was a blockbuster hit, amassing a whopping Rs. 118 crores, making it one of the highest grossing films of the year. It was also praised by critics and audiences alike, with the majority appreciating its action sequences, dialogues and humour.
