 Zee TV broadcast the Hindi-language television drama serial Yeh Vaada Raha from September 21, 2015, till January 20, 2017. The primary characters, Karthik and Survi, were depicted there in a former life before they were reborn as Karthik and Survi. Initial emphasis on the programme was Survi and Karthik's love story (Sonal Vengurlekar) (Ankush Arora). The programme then took an eight-year hiatus following Survi's passing, and Khushi, who was seven at the time (also played by Vengurlekar), has grown up and married Abeer (Zain Imam), the current male star of the show. Supporting role played by Ankita Sharma.

Survi Mohite and Kartik Barve, the show's primary protagonists, are featured in the opening sequence. Following a generational shift, the plot centred on the romance between their daughter Khushi and Abeer Dharmadhikari.

Survi, who was nurtured by Shrikant, is a mature and responsible 9-year-old. Kartik, 19, exhibits immaturity and impulsivity. Unfortunate events lead to the police shooting and killing his uncle Digambar; his aunt Kamla accuses Shrikant and swears vengeance. He is forced to move to Dubai with Survi. Kartik assures Kamla that he would look after the family.

Because he has always had a lot of regard for Shrikant, who he swore would take good care of Survi, rich Kartik chooses to bring her. Kamla simply wants Kartik's property, Survi discovers. If Survi doesn't go, she threatens to hurt Kartik, she says to Survi. Survi concurs. When Lata, Kartik's mother, finds out the truth, she pushes Kamla off the top and accuses Survi. Kartik begins to despise Survi after naively believing Kamla.

Eight years later, Survi becomes a nurse; Kartik turns into a heartless alcoholic as a result of her alleged betrayal. Survi encounters Kartik while looking for money for Shrikant's surgery, and he lets her stay. Aniket, his cousin, develops feelings for Survi.

When Kartik learns of her innocence, he realises how much he loves her. Survi declares her intention to wed Aniket, who flees. To preserve her honour, Kartik marries her.

Kamla is exposed by Survi. Kartik ejects her but transfers all of his possessions to her. He begins employment as a mechanic. Survi is expecting. After pretending to lose her memory, Kamla kidnaps Khushi, Survi and Kartik's infant daughter, causing them to split up because they believed she had died. One of the kidnappers brings Khushi to Survi on a train, and Survi adopts her without realising that she is her own daughter.

After seven years,Kartik meets Khushi, who lives with Survi, and they become friends. Kamla discovers she is indeed their daughter. As Kartik and Survi dispute and come together, Khushi's secret is revealed. For retaliation, Kamla drives Kartik crazy. On his return, Krishna, his twin, enters to cause trouble. Except for Khushi and Kartik, all family members pass away. Also, Kamla murders Survi. Before she passes away, Khushi makes a commitment to the patient to take care of the insane Kartik.

After 15 years, Khushi matures. She has disagreements with playboy Abir Dharmadhikari. They arrive in a community. Abir kisses Khushi while claiming to be their fiancé in front of the locals. They fall in love and are obliged to be married, but Khushi's parents won't let them. Kamla returns seeking retribution but is detained once more. In the end, Khushi's in-laws accept her.
