Introduction 

The Action movie Antim: The Last Truth, which was released in 2021 is a Hindi-language film made by Salman Khan Productions and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. It is a remake of the Marathi movie Mulshi Pattern and is released by Zee Studios. Salman Khan, Aayush Sharma, Mahima Makwana, and Jisshu Sengupta star n the movie. Similar to the original, the tale centers on a confrontation between a Sikh police officer (Salman Khan) and a criminal (Aayush Sharma), and it also examines the challenging circumstances that certain farmers experience that drives some of them to crime. On November 26, 2021, the movie received a worldwide theatrical release.

Plot

 The movie tells the tale of a farmer who is forced to sell his land and then work as a farmhand in his own fields. In the story, Rahul or Rahuliya Patil’s father named Dattaram is forced to take up the job of watchman minding his own fields. One day the landlord beats Dattaram black and blue leading to Rahul coming to meet the Landlord and they have a tussle. Rahul challenges the landlord that he will be back to take back the land his family owns. The family then moves to Pune where the father-son duo takes on the job as porters lifting back braking bags of vegetables to earn a living. One day when some goons turn up and start harassing an old man, Rahul beats the goons but is thrown in jail. There he meets Nanya a powerful gangster who has the support of the local MLA. Rahul joins hands with him. Meanwhile, he falls head over heels for a girl named Manda who sells tea in the vegetable market.

Rahul earns a name for himself when he accidentally kills the mayor, when caught and thrown in jail he is bailed out by Nanya who fabricates the murder of the man’s uncle. The duo then goes on to find a solution to solve the local vendor's problems. The story goes on with Rahul being thrown in jail a number of times but always dodging the prison sentence due to his mass connections. He also meets Rajveer a cop who takes pity on him and warns him of the consequences of his actions. One day Rahuliya turns on Nanya and kills him believing that he was stalking his sister and mother. Rajveer Singh having witnessed this imprisons him and he spends a few long months in Jail.

Rahul is now feared by everyone and no one dares to cross his path. One day Sidhu also called Siddharth comes to him and Rahul adopts him as a younger brother. Meanwhile, Rajveer tired of months of trying to warn Rahul plans to leave the gangster's fate to himself and plays his hand by assassinating the gangster's members without their knowledge. Rahul now has amassed a fortune of money and land but is left alone with both his father and girlfriend deserting and despising him. This leads him to become an even worse villain taking over people’s lands illegally and extorting money from others. He tells of his exploits to his father but instead is given a hearing from him. He also takes his land back from the greedy landlord.

Circumstances turn against him when the local MLA hires goons to kill him on the day of Vinayaka Chaturthi. Rahul instead kills the MLA and the goons began to chase him on the roads of Pune. He calls Sidhu and tells him to inform everyone and bring people to his aide. Rahul fights the goons in the market while Dattaram informs Rajveer of the happenings in the marketplace. Rajveer arrives and so does Sidhu. The goons are captured and Rahul turns himself into the police. Sidhu who arrived on the scene with a gun points the gun toward Rahul and shoots him severely wounding him. As Rahul lies dying on the ground Sidhu reveals himself as being the grandson of Masterji whom Rahul had killed and forcefully taken his land. Everyone is silent and weeps at the tragic turn of fate.

The movie was released on 26th November 2021. The movie received mixed emotions from the audience. The movie can be found on the OTT platform Zee5. The movie grossed a box office collection of 59 crores.

The movie received mixed emotions from the audience. It has a rating of 6.8 out of 10 on IMDB. One movie watcher mentioned the movie was good with excellent performance on both Salman and Ayush’s parts.

Another Viewer commented saying that the movie was boring and the audience lost focus on the storyline due to the plot.

The director Mahesh Manjrekar reveals that during the shooting of the film, he found that he was diagnosed with Cancer. Later on, he was treated and recovered. 

Aayush Sharma revealed that during the shooting of the movie Salman Khan gave him an earful of sound advice asking him to play Rahul and not his own self.

Character Analysis 

Rahul or Rahulia is a boy who after watching his fathers land taken over by goons, threatens the landlord with revenge and leaves for Pune after an altercation. There he connects with a gangster named Nanya and he grows very peowerful slowly making a name for himself as dreaded gangster. The power of money and fame goes to his head and leads him down the path of crime, distruction and love. He amasses a lot of wealth but is a lone wolf and his own family and girlfriend dont want anything to do with him. He is shown as man pitied against the world with swords drawn and always on the lookout for trouble.

Rajveer a sikh policeman who is also sometimes looking out for Rahul is shown as kind hearted and smart personality. He is merciful and advices Rahul to turn on a new leaf and leave the world of crime but his words fallon deaf ears. He is tried of the gangsters in his city always playing with the rules and making bail due to their high connections.

Manda is the Rahul’s love interest. She is shown as a sweet girl who sells tea in the vegetable market. Rahul falls fast and hard for her. She doesnt like Rahul playing with fire and joining the crime world many times voicing her thoughts but never being paid heed to. She finally breaks things off with Rahul when he pushes and ends up injuring her father.

Dadaram is Rahul’s father who is against his son joining the world of crime from the start.

Nanya is the local gangster who has earned fame through his ways and due to his connections to the local MLA.

Sidhu is a young boy who comes to Rahul’s home and is adopted as Rahuls brother. He ends up killing Rahul in the end and revels his true identity as being Masterjis grandson whom Rahul had killed many years ago.

Interesting Facts

Aayush Sharma and Salman Khan are relatives by marriage. Aayush is married to Salman Khans sister.

Salman Khan played the role of a Sikh only the second time, the first being in the movie Heroes 2008 where he was an officer of the 8 Sikh regiment who was killed in action.
