The film, which was made by Vamsi-UV Pramod's Creations in collaboration with K.E. Ganavelraja's Studio Green, features actress Disha Patani in the female lead role opposite Suriya, whose 2022 film released in the Tamil action thriller film Etharkkum Thunindhavan, which ended up being a big box office hit. Disha Patani makes her Tamil film debut with this project.

Vanangaan is currently in production thanks to the superstar. He will also make a special cameo appearance in the Hindi version of his own movie, Soorarai Pottru, which received five honours at the renowned 68th National Award ceremony, including the Best Actor Award for him. Akshay Kumar will play the lead in the remake.
