Introduction 

Mahisagar is an Indian drama television series that was first aired on 7th October 2013. The show consisted of a total of 400 episodes with the final episode being released on 15th April 2015. The Hats Of Production series was made by J.D Majethia and starred actors like Anuj Thakur and Dharti Bhatt. Recently this year the show reaired on the month of 24th February 2023 on the channel Big Magic.

Plot 

The serial talks about the tale of a girl named Mahi who lives in a small town situated in Gujarat. She has a carefree and easygoing attitude. Though weak in her studies she loves living life to the fullest. She marries a guy named Sagar Mehta who is from Ahmedabad. After moving in with her husband's family she discovers that while she follows a more traditional and old-fashioned lifestyle her inlaws have a more open-minded and modern approach to life. 

Her husband's brother Rohit Mehta has studied abroad and settled in India with his wife Soniya Mehta who dreams of becoming an Actress. She is birdbrained but has an open and modern personality. Ansuya Mehta a modern, praiseworthy, and loyal politician who is also Sagar’s and Rohit’s mother is her mother in law. At first, Ansuya didn't receive her well but over the course of time, she finally accepted her new daughter-in-law. 

Anusuya wants Mahi to leave her past behind and start adapting to the family's thinking of a modern lifestyle. The other members of the house include Anusuya’s husband Rajiv, her sister Bindu and the family's chef Kankahiyalal. The whole plot of the story is based around the life of Mahi who now has forgone her old-fashioned culture and tried embracing her In-law's modern lifestyle. The way she tries doing this and the amusing situations she falls into are the whole plot of the story.

 Character Analysis

Mahi Mehta is a small-town girl who is from an old-fashioned family. She has a care free personality and is weak in her studies. When she marries her husband Sagar Mehta she inherits inlaws who are of an open and modern personality. She has to blend with her new family members while also trying to jam with her In law’s modern thinking.

Sagar Mehta is married to Mahi Mehta who is from a small village in Gujarat. He brings Mahi to his home after their marriage. His family members include his brother Rohit Mehta who has studied abroad and now is settled with his wife who aspires becoming a Bollywood actress and sometimes doesn't use her brain to its full potential. His mother Ansuya is a Politician who takes an instant dislike to Mahi but afterward accepts her wholeheartedly.

Ansuya Rajiv Mehta is an Indian Politician who lives with her husband their two sons and their daughter-in-law. She takes a dislike to Mahi when she first comes to live with them, but later accepts her. She wants her daughter-in-law Mahi to become like the family and lead a modern lifestyle and thinking.

Rajiv Mehta is Mahi Mehta’s father-in-law who lives with his wife and two sons along with their respected wives.

Conclusion 

The TV Show Mahisagar tells the story of Mahi who after marrying her husband Sagar has to move in with her In-laws. Has she tries to fit in with her new family she has to juggle her new life and also the change in lifestyle and method of living. While the full family is of a modern thinking and lifestyle Mahi struggles to lead the same often leading to amusing and dramatic situations. More she also has to deal with her mother-in-law who at first is unaccepting of her new daughter-in-law but later on accepts her. 

The show is filled with comedic and wholesome entertainment. The audience can enjoy and relish the great performance of the actors.
