Introduction

Hasee Toh Phasee is a Bollywood romantic comedy-drama film directed by Vinil Mathew in the Hindi language. The movie was produced by Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap. Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra play the lead parts in the movie. With a global gross of 63.38 crore after its 7 February 2014 release, it was a financial success at the box office. Nikhil is a failing businessman who believes he has feelings for Karishma. Nikhil is described as someone who thinks there should be no leaving after making a commitment to a girl. Before getting married, Nikhil begs Karishma's father for help of  50 million,  so he can secure a contract. However, Karishma and her father make fun of him for frequently using money in a careless manner. 

Then, Nikhil reconnects with Meeta, Karishma's younger sibling, whom he last saw seven years ago. Meeta, an IIT graduate with a Doctorate in chemical engineering, is a super-intelligent geek with odd tics and habits who ran away to China seven years ago after stealing money from her father for her project. She was a drug addict who needed money to buy drugs.  Now, one week out from Nikhil and Karishma's wedding, Meeta has shown up to meet her father, but Karishma is worried that her sister's unannounced visit will once again spoil their wedding.Nikhil recognises he is marrying the wrong girl after Meeta rejoins her family.

Meeta decides against robbing her father of his money and tells him the reality instead. Her father grants her forgiveness, gives her the money, and sees that Nikhil is in love with her rather than Karishma. Later, Nikhil calls Meeta and apologises for not joining her to Goa when she first requested him to do so seven years prior  When Nikhil visits Meeta and observes Karishma enjoying herself with her friends and relatives, he returns home after understanding that he cannot harm Karishma due to the complications. 

Meeta leaves her house on the wedding day without telling anyone and leaves her phone in Karishma's room. Her calls and numerous messages from Nikhil go unanswered. After reading the messages on Meeta's phone, which she discovered in her room, Karishma knows she has lost Nikhil. She requests that Nikhil depart the wedding, and her father agrees with her choice. At the airport, Meeta cries and  when she and Nikhil reconnect, they declare their love for one another and kiss to make it official.

Release

Bollywood film Hasse Toh Phasee hit theatres on February 7, 2014. It is presently streaming on Netflix in India as far as OTT (over-the-top) platforms are involved. Reviews

The movie got favourable reviews, with the performances of the lead cast receiving special attention. It received 3.5/5 stars from Bollywood Hungama's Taran Adarsh, who also stated, "Hasee Toh Phasee tries to be distinctive. This story is not just about two polar opponents finding love. This is a quirky love story featuring two people that is a little different from the usual material on matters of the heart.

Sukanya Verma of Rediff gave the film the same ratings and stated, "Hasee Toh Phasee is that rare film that enables you to know the two people you're investing in. And the more you get close to them, the more they have you. Without showing any signs of modesty or exaggeration, Parineeti digs her fangs into this misunderstood kook. If that isn't mystical enough, Hasee Toh Phasee certainly is. that living, love, and smiles are all the high you need.

Character Analysis

Hasee Toh Phasee is a 2014 Bollywood romantic comedy film with Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra in the lead roles. It was directed by Vinil Mathew.

Sidharth Malhotra portrays Nikhil Bharadwaj, a struggling businessman who feels a lot of pressure to advance in his career. Despite being engaged to Karishma, he is not fully happy but when Nikhil meets Meeta, they become very close.

Meeta Solanki, who is portrayed by Parineeti Chopra, is a quirky and weird woman with a troubled past. She is Karishma, younger sister. Despite their difficult situation, Meeta and Nikhil start to feel something for one another.

Adah Sharma portrays Karishma Solanki, Meeta's older sibling and the fiancée of Nikhil. She is career-focused and hopes that her partner will achieve success in their line of work.

Meeta and Karishma's mother, Mrs. Solanki, is portrayed by Sameer Ali Khan as being overly protective of her children.

Songs

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy was hired to create the soundtrack for the movie. However, they ultimately decided the lyrics for the songs that are included in the movie were written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Kumaar, whereas the songs  were composed by Vishal-Shekhar. 

The first song, Drama Queen, performed by Shreya Ghoshal and Vishal Dadlani, was released on December 23, 2013. On January 3, 2014, Chinmayi and Shekhar Ravjiani introduced the single Zehnaseeb, which they both sang. The full soundtrack record was made available on January 6, 2014. Later, Dharma Productions posted the remixed version of  Drama Queen on Youtube. Khamosh Shah wrote and produced a complete Gujarati rap song that appears in the movie but isn't featured on the soundtrack.

Anurag Kashyap, who is incredibly enthusiastic about this project, stated, "Fresh faces are okay for the plot, but the performances need to have a lot of chemistry and maturity. So he selected Sidharth and Parineeti after months of shortlisting numerous performers.

Box Office Collection

Hasee Toh Phasee had a respectable start in most big metro areas across the nation, according to Box Office India. On its opening day, Hasee Toh Phasee brought in about 40 million (US$500,000). The film made about 55 million (US$690,000) on Saturday, a 35% increase from Friday. Box Office India estimates that the weekend takings were around 170 million (US$2.1 million),but trade expert Taran Adarsh asserted that it was actually 185 million (US$2.3 million). 

The film made a respectable 275 million yen ($3.4 million) in its first week of release. Due to the debut of Yash Raj Pictures' Gunday, the movie's screen count decreased in the second week. The 10-day total was 320 million (US$4.0 million), but it still brought in a number of 47.5 million (US$590,000). The movie made approximately $1.027 million (64.1 million) in its first weekend.

• HASTA LA VISTA was the film's original working title. Its present title was changed for marketing reasons.
