Imran's real name is Imran Pal. He is an Indian-American actor who has performed in Hindi movies. He is the grandson of director-producer Nasir Hussain and the nephew of actor Aamir Khan and director-producer Mansoor Khan. As a young actor, he appeared in the films Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1988) and Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988).

Khan made his professional acting debut in the romantic comedy Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na in 2008. The Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut went to him for his role in the movie.

The media labeled Khan a one-film wonder after his following two films were box office duds. After that, he appeared in other films that were financially successful, including I Hate Luv Stories (2010), Delhi Belly (2011), Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011), and Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012), which is his final financially successful movie. A slew of commercial failures followed.

Khan is a social crusader who has written essays for the Hindustan Times in addition to performing in films. He has participated in events hosted by PETA, demonstrating his support for the organization. After dating Avantika Malik for eight years, he married her in January 2011.
Khan portrayed a young Aamir Khan as a child actor in the movies Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992).
