Mimoh Chakraborty (born 30 July 1984) is the stage name of Indian actor Mahaakshay Chakraborty, who works primarily in the Hindi cinema business. His parents, actors Mithun Chakraborty and Yogeeta Bali, are his inspiration.Ushmey Chakraborty, Namashi Chakraborty, and Dishani Chakraborty are his brothers and sister.
Career
In the 2008 film Jimmy, he made his debut under the stage name Mimoh, playing a disc jockey who is wrongly convicted of murder and is forced to enter the criminal underworld. Directed by Raj N. Sippy, the film featured prominent performances by Rahul Dev, Shakti Kapoor, and Vivana Singh. The picture was panned by reviewers and spectators alike and was a financial failure. Mimoh's acting talents came under fire from several viewers. In this age when debutants are well-groomed, schooled in action, dance, and most crucially, dialogue, diction, and acting, it's stunning that Mimoh Chakraborty seems so badly unprepared,'' noted Patchy N, a film journalist for Rediff.com.
His subsequent two albums, 2010's He-The-Only-One, and 2011's The-Murderer-Hamilton-Palace were never released following Jimmy (2008). He co-starred with Hansika Motwani in the movie He- The Only One.
His debut film, Haunted - 3D, was the first Indian stereoscopic 3D horror film, and it was released in 2011. The film was a commercial success despite receiving negative reviews from reviewers. The Times of India, which only gave the film three out of five stars, said that its success was due entirely to its spectacular effects. Seeing a horror film in 3D is a first for most people, and it's even more of a novelty when it's well executed.
In his upcoming film, Loot, he plays a boy-next-door who, along with his criminal colleagues (Govinda, Suniel Shetty, and Jaaved Jaffrey), is taken to Pattaya in order to rob a house. The film Loot bombed at the box office and was widely panned by reviewers.
Films such as Rocky (2013), Enemmy (2013), and Ishqedarriyaan (2015) followed his breakout role in Loot. All three of them bombed at the box office, both critically and financially. He had a role in the 2021 biopic Main Mulayam Singh Yadav. He was Mulayam Singh Yadav's younger brother, Shivpal Singh Yadav.
His next film is Jayeveer Panghaal's suspense flick Rosh, in which he co-stars with Nikita Soni. He will also appear in Jogira Sara Ra Ra, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and directed by Kushan Nandy. Sanjay Mishra and Neha Sharma both play significant parts in the film.
