By outperforming Chen Wenling of Taiwan in the women's freestyle 68 kg competition at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Divya Kakran took home the bronze medal. 

On 7th August 2022, Divya Kakran won the bronze medal in the ongoing Commonwealth Games. Divya Karkan defeated Tong Tiger Lily Cocker Lemalie in the women's 68 kg category. Divya Kakran lost two points at the start of the match but later managed to counter Lemalie and get back in the game. As a result, Divya Kakran secured her second bronze medal in the Commonwealth Game.
